Stomp Your Way to Victory in MONOPOLY®: Godzilla and JENGA®: Godzilla

Charlie has loved Godzilla since he was tiny and will watch Godzilla over and over and still not be tired of the movie. David is the same way when it comes to Godzilla.

With me collecting Monopoly games for our Game Nights as soon as I heard we could stomp our way to Victory in MONOPOLY®: Godzilla I knew MONOPOLY®: Godzilla would be the perfect Christmas Gift for Charlie.

For David I can get JENGA®: Godzilla because we haven’t ever played Jinga. I don’t have a Jinga game in the Game Closet. As well as the elusive Monopoly Scooby-Doo! Board Game  I’ve been looking for.

About: MONOPOLY®: Godzilla

Demolish the competition in a city-terrorizing twist on the classic board game with MONOPOLY®: Godzilla. Begin the invasion by buying, selling and trading locations like Monster Island, Goro’s Workshop, and Kitakami Lake and take over the board with Facilities and Bases. Custom sculpted tokens of giants such as Mothra, Godzilla, King Ghidorah, and Mechagodzilla easily impose on anything in their path!

JENGA®: Godzilla Extreme Edition

Beyond belief… GODZILLA is on the rampage again! With JENGA® GODZILLA Extreme Edition, the titan of terror is trying to bring your tower down with a heat ray.

Featuring custom game play, players remove and replace blocks according to the directives to keep it standing through every threatening roll of the die. Beware, GODZILLA marches toward the tower raising the threat of destruction with every step!

More games I would like to purchase:

The Batman Who Laughs Rising

One of DC’s most sinister characters is bringing his darkness from the comics to the tabletop, but don’t let the familiar silhouette fool you—the sight of this twisted villain from thDark Nights: Metal series will make you do a double take. The latest to join the ranks of board games’ greatest foes is coming soon in The Batman Who Laughs Rising!

MONOPOLY®: Garbage Pail Kids

Collectible tokens include the Zit Goo Tube, Melting Eyeball, and Swirly Dog Poop as players move around the board to collect the iconic Garbage Pail Kids.

Relive the classic trading card game in a whole new way with MONOPOLY®: Garbage Pail Kids. Featuring authentic licensed characters fans know and love.

Collectible tokens include the Zit Goo Tube, Melting Eyeball, and Swirly Dog Poop as players move around the board to collect the iconic Garbage Pail Kids.

Leslie is decorating her Christmas Tree in Harry Potter this year. What would be better than purchasing Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle Defense Against the Dark Arts for her to play with Toby on Christmas Eve.

Having been busy designing and (successfully) kickstarting my own Deck Builder I’ve been playing a few for research purposes (at least that’s the excuse). One of them was Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle: Defense Against the Dark Arts, a neat little package, ironically burdened with one of the longest and most unwieldy names in gaming.

HP:HB:DATDA (even the acronym is a bit of a beast, I’m going with DADA from now on) borrows heavily from the very fine standard Hogwarts Battle except that its two player versus as opposed to two to four player co-op.

Players deck build cards in the standard fashion, from a small weak generic deck, picking up cards each turn and using them to generate attacks to blast their opponent with.

Damage is represented in a sweetly visual style as players are represented on a small board reminiscent of the dueling stage from the Harry Potter movies with little standees that get knocked back and step forward depending on the damage or healing dealt, reach the end of the stage and you lose, with the overall game being decided on a best two out of three format.

Decks are kept between rounds, which is a nice touch both for speed of between round resets but also to allow players to actually build a deck. Unlike the standard Hogwarts battle DADA also has tableaux cards in the form of allies who give advantages turn to turn.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
