Do You Know What A Quarter Auction Is?

Do You Know What A Quarter Auction Is?

Today, I have a question for you. Have you ever heard of a Quarter Auction? If you haven’t I thought I would share a new way for Direct Sellers to build there business.

Especially if your wanting to have your business seen in Dallas/ Fort Worth. It is through a Quarter Auction and a fun and unique way to get business and blogs seen.

Quarter Auctions seem to have take over for Bingo in a lot of towns.  So since I wasn’t sure if some of you have heard of Quarter Auction or not I thought I would share with you what they are and how they work. As you might want to check them out.

I am with Pink Zebra and Quarter Auctions helps my business be seen as I can set a table up at the event. Or I can just donate a item for them to Auction off and stay home with my family. But I am still working my business and being seen.

Here is a description of what a Quarter Auction is and if you Google them you can find out where and when and where they are happening at. Also, if you have other questions I would be happy to answer them for you.

Description:

Quarter Auctions are ways to help raise money for Fundraising. Quarter Auctions are also a great way to network with other businesses and business  owners.

A charity is selected each month and this is where the money raised during a Quarter Auction goes to. Different business owners set up a table with their products, services, and marketing material and are allowed to showcase there companies during the auction.

So how does a Quarter Auction work?

Each business owner pays to have a spot in the Quarter auction and are allowed to set up a small table.
Usually there are drinks and snacks for sale  the proceeds from these sales also goes to the charity.
During a Quarter Auction a 50/50 can happen at the same time. A 50/50 Raffle is where tickets are sold and we host a  drawing.  50% of the money sold in raffle tickets will go to one lucky winner and the other 50% will go to the charity.
Every guest pays a fee  at the door for admission and to get their numbered paddle for the auction.  This money collected from the Paddles is also donated to the charities.

Now for the Responsibilities of the Business Owners!

You will need to pay for a table and the amount of the space is determined by the host of the Quarter Auction.  You will need to bring your own table to host your business on.
You will need to have 1 item for a door prize  ( small item- $5.00 and under in value )
Along with 2 items that you will auction off.

MOST IMPORTANTLY>>>> You will need to bring a certain number of guest guests in attendance and will be determined by the host of the event. The host  will track how many guest you bring. If you do not bring the required number of guest you might not be asked back or you might have to pay a fee for each guest not in attendance.

Please understand the importance of bringing guest to a Quarter Auction!  Without guests we have no one to bid on the items and the charity doesn’t make any money.  So again this is  why it is important to bring the required guest.  Invite everyone you know! Hand out fliers and shout it from the roof top.

When word gets out Quarter Auctions grow and grow because they are so much fun!

When the auction part begins you will be given a brief opportunity to speak in  front of the group.  You will have your auction item and briefly describe it.  You can ask for one quarter ( .25)  up to 4 quarters ( 1.00 ) or what ever the host requires you to do. Which will be agreed on before the auction begins.

Everyone who would like to bid on your item  puts their quarters in the buckets!  Once everyone has put there quarters inside the bucket … YOU GET ALL THE QUARTERS TO TAKE HOME!  If you ask for 3 quarters .75 and there are 100 people in the room that all want your item….well do the math…..  you take home 75.00  This is the reason it is so important to have your guests there.  There are two rounds of auction for the business owners. Once all paddles are in the air, a number is drawn.  If the guest with the number drawn has that bid, and their paddle is in the air, they are the lucky winner of the item up for auction!

That explains the Fundraising and the Auction, but the networking comes in at the very beginning!  Each guest is asked to talk to all the business owners and get their initials  When they have all their initials it goes into the drawing for all the door prizes provided by the business owners.  We then take all their contact info and every one of you will get that information which is new leads for your business!!

If you do not wish to showcase your business at the Auction  or you are not a business owner they are still a lot of fun to attend. Plus it gets you a night out without the kids. I love it as it helps me purchase gifts for my family with out breaking the back as most items go for 8 quarters or less and the items can be anywhere from $5 up to hundreds.

Soon you will see I have a page of ladies I know who run Quarter Auctions and the upcoming ones I am hosting and as I hope to see you at one soon. If you do attend look for me I will be at the Pink Zebra table and if you come by I just might have a free gift for you.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David
