Teaching Our Children About Good Friday

I am not sure if your aware of it or not but today is Good Friday. I have a question for you this morning. Can you tell me what we should be teaching our children about Good Friday?

You see Charlie does attend Church and I know the story of Jesus but I am not sure what we should be teaching in school or what resources we should be using in our classroom.

I am sure I could find the answers in the Bible to help me explain Easter but I am not sure where I should look. Being the first year I am teaching Charlie and I wanted to make sure I explain things to him that he would understand.

I though I would ask you if you know where I can find articles and lesson plans teaching our students about Good Friday.  Then I thought you might not even teach your students about Good Friday and I might not need to either. I would like to find out what you think.

I did search the internet this morning but I didn’t find much to share or that would be easy to explain to Charlie. Although I am sure I wasn’t looking in the right place as I still stumble a lot when it comes to Homeschooling Charlie.

I ventured to Amazon and took a look at some Easter books since David and I still need to get items for Charlies Easter Basket. I found the following books I would like to get Charlie.

I have another question for you. Do you host a Easter Egg party for your students? I had planned to for Charlie although David was out of town this week  I wasn’t able to go and get the supplies we needed for the party.

This year we will have to forgo a School Easter Party which is okay as we are having a Family Easter Dinner. Although next year, I plan on throwing a Party for Charlie and inviting his friends and I will not let anything get in our way.

When we host our Easter party I am going to get Charlie to help me make  a Rabbit Cake as I always wanted to get one for him and haven’t. But Suzzane had one every year.

This year my family will be here I may cheat and pick a cake up at the store. Although if you would like to make a Rabbit Cake you can  purchase pans on Amazon.

I would like to ask if you would share your Easter plans with Charlie and I. If your hosting a Easter party or working Easter lessons today let us know what you are doing. We would love to see what everyone is working on.

Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
