I would like to welcome you back to our Red, White & Blue Family Countdown Day 4: Celebrate Independence Day by Making Memories Together Today is finally here—Happy Fourth of July! I hope there shooting #fireworks off in your City tonight because they did ours on Thursday night which stunk because that isn’t the 4th.
For many families, Independence Day is filled with cookouts, parades, fireworks, and time spent with the people we love most. While the food and festivities are always fun, the memories we make together are what often stay with us the longest. For my family everyone is working so I will be celebrating on my own unless David gets to come home early.
It doesn’t matter if your celebration is big or small, today is about slowing down long enough to enjoy one another’s company. Sometimes the best moments are the simplest ones—sharing a meal on the back porch, watching children play outside, telling family stories, or sitting together waiting for the fireworks to begin.
If you’re looking for a few easy ways to make today even more meaningful, try one or two of these ideas. Let each family member help prepare a favorite dish, play a game outside together, decorate bikes or wagons in red, white, and blue, or take a family photo in front of your home. Before the day ends, ask everyone to share their favorite moment from the celebration.
Remember to stay safe while celebrating. Drink plenty of water if you’re spending time outdoors, use sunscreen, supervise children around grills and sparklers, and pools and continue to keep your pets indoors if fireworks are expected in your area.
Today’s printable is designed to help your family enjoy the day together. Complete as many activities as you can, or simply use it as inspiration for making memories that will last long after the holiday has ended. Then print the printable out to use year after year.
Tomorrow we’ll wrap up our Red, White & Blue Family Countdown with a special memory page and a look back at everything we accomplished together this week.
Happy Independence Day from all of us at TheMommiesReviews.com! We hope your day is filled with laughter, gratitude, and wonderful family memories.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
