I would like to share a children’s book Charlie could have read in his Homeschool Reading Class which we could have studied Bob Marley and the song the book is from in our Music Class. The book is called Is This Love? a family story from Chronicle Kids Book you will find inside our Christmas Gift Guide 25.
The children on the book seem to be underneath a blanket. I think it would be fun to create a tent and do my work inside the tent this morning. Would you like to help Charlie and I build a tent? Through the book we learn of a older siblings love for a younger sibling.
Through Is This Love we learn of a bigger sister’s love for her little sister just as I have for my sister Debbie and my nephew Jason has for his sister Lily. The story makes me want to share Is This Love? with my sister Debbie and my nephew Jason and my niece Lily. Would you like to read This Is Love with us?
I enjoyed seeing the big sister tell the little sister how she is going to love her through different events including tucked into there beds. Then the big sister ask “Is this love I am feeling?” The big sister talks about teaching her little sister things she knows and watching her grow. You can see through Is This Love there going to be best friends.
Through thick and thin they will be friends just like my sister and I. The big sister lets her know she will watch of her as her dreams come true. Which I hope the little sister does for the big sister as well. Then we learn that what the big sister is feeling is love which is the best thing of all.
In the back of is This Love is a note from the Author. I liked how we learn her family is everything to her just like it is to me. How about you? As a child her parents taught her to love her siblings and they’ve brought that love into there own families. Just as I have with my children. Like me her three boys are her best friends. The story the Author let us know is adapted from the song and really stands for love.
This book is perfect for small children but anyone who enjoys Bob Marley’s music will enjoy the story. If you know of a new parents who are expecting please purchase a copy of Is This Love? for them to share with there children. Then look up the song and just get lost in the music.
