I thought I would share a #Holiday May 20 National Pick Strawberries Day #PickStrawberriesDay, I know your going to say the #Holiday has passed but picking Strawberries would be a fun Summer activity to take on. We could pick #Strawberries for David and his dad. Would you want to go with us? Events like thi can be a fun #FieldTrip if your #Homeschooling your children.
If you want to plan a Trip to go and pick your own Fruit check out which offers us a list of Foods we can pick and the places the Farms are located in. For me some of these places would be a hour or more from my home. Leave plenty of time for driving and exploring. Bring a Picnic Lunch so you can stop when needed.
BOYD, TX – Demases Farm is a one stop shop for fresh produce in North Texas. Their produce stand is open 9AM – 3PM most days and offers all sorts of fresh fruits including veggies: Zucchini, squash, kohlrabi, potatoes, onions, spinach, lettuces, cheese, eggs, preserves, just to name a few.
Strawberry picking is offered on select days during April and May. Days and hours will be announced on their Facebook and Instagram pages. On some Saturdays, you may even find additional vendors setup on the farm to help with all your fresh food needs.
The 2025 Strawberry season at Demases Farm has been announced for April 6th! Check their Social Media pages for more information. This Farm will also offer a #History lesson as its been operating for over 100 years. Isn’t that amazing?

PILOT POINT, TX – We might as well start off with our own personal adventure to Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm. This farm opens around mid April and stays open as long as the picking is good, which is typically the end of May. They offer strawberry picking, hanging strawberry baskets, strawberry ice cream, and strawberry jam. The 2025 strawberry harvest season at Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm starts April 7th and they are showing off some vibrant, big berries during this season of abundance. LAST DAY OF THE SEASON •Wednesday May 28th.

Alford Family Farm
EMORY, TX – The Alford Family Farm offers a country store with jellies, jams, honey and fresh produce along with strawberry picking, blueberry picking, blackberry picking, and even Muscadine Grapes picking in August. The fruit picking days for the Alford Family Farm seem to vary from week to week. The best way to find up-to-date picking information is to follow their page on facebook.
Strawberry picking for the 2025 season at Alford Family Farm has started as of April 3rd! Picking season for blackberries and blueberries should be starting in early June – July. Always check their Facebook page for the most up to date information.

Ham Orchards– TERRELL, TX – Ham Orchards features a Farm Market Store with a variety of produce (apricots, blackberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, cherries, plums, strawberries, watermelon, beans, corn, onions, peas, peppers, potatoes, squash, tomatoes and zucchini), jarred products, homemade fudge, ice cream, BBQ, Ice Cream and more.
Ham Orchards also offers a U-PICK blackberry patch for all your blackberry picking needs. Please note, while you can find fresh peaches at Ham Orchards, the peaches are pre-picked for you. Peach season starts mid May though official dates for 2024 haven’t yet been announced.
The Orchards are scheduled to open up Mid-May, but official dates for picking season have not been announced for 2025. Keep checking their Facebook page for details.

Goober Bub’s JUSTIN, TX – Goober Bub’s offers pick-your-own strawberries and freshly baked goods. Their bakery is typically open on the weekends, but the farm opens up for Strawberry picking both on weekdays and weekends.
While Goober Bub’s does not adhere to a specific schedule, they do announce a picking schedule on Social Media each week. They have also started accepting pre-orders for their bakery which offers strawberry donuts, strawberry jam, and more!
