Extraordinary Teachers: Stories from Everyday Heroes by Editors of Rock Point (Author), Dan Shutes (Foreword)

I was able to read Extraordinary Teachers: Stories from Everyday Heroes from not only a teachers perspective but a parents and loved the book no, matter how I approached the stories. Having the stories broken down into chapters allowed me to read the book during breaks from work.

I will be sharing Extraordinary Teachers: Stories from Everyday Heroes with all the teachers, librarians and school staff I know to share with other teachers. Extraordinary Teachers: Stories from Everyday Heroes is the first book of I’ve read from Dan Shutes but it will not be the last.

I loved the chapters which include They Motivate, They Educate, They Connect along with other chapters including my favorite They Nurture which all good teachers do. The printing in the book is black and very small so I did have trouble reading the book without my head hurting.

Don’t let that stop you from reading Extraordinary Teachers: Stories from Everyday Heroes I turned the book into a Coffee table book. Charlie would read a few pages to us at night before we watched TV. I like how in the back of the book each Teacher is listed and how to find her.

Charlie and David thought it was neat that Ms. Melody Munch was from Oklahoma. I liked finding out MR. Zachery Lombardi was from New York and teaches Elementary School Visual Arts a class Charlie would have enjoyed.

There is even a teacher from Texas Mr. Juan Edgar Gonzalez Jr. who teaches Third Grade Social Studies Charlie and Suzzie’s favorite class. Again from Texas was Mr. Brandon Pena who teaches High School English but I wonder at what School. Don’t you?
