Beach Plum Lane: Romantic Women’s Fiction (Isabel Island Book1) by Ellen Joy (Author)

Amazon #1 Best-Selling Author, Ellen Joy, begins her next series with an inspiring later in life, second chance romance full of forgiveness, healing, friendship, and love.

Sophia and Crissy had been the best of friends until a teenage dispute tore them apart. Now, decades later, they live their separate lives and do their best to avoid each other, despite living on a small town Island.

It’s been easy enough for Sophia, the Island physician, who has been withdrawn from everyone since losing her husband several years ago. Now, the single mother is just trying to keep her head down and raise her teenage daughter, which becomes more difficult when an old flame moves in across the street.

Crissy, on the other hand, the wife of a high-profile public figure, is now a mother herself and is living the life she always dreamt about – in the spotlight.

But, as Sophia battles with mixed emotions about moving on from her husband and a scandal turns Crissy’s world upside down, the unlikely pair reunite and begin to piece their shattered friendship together to help each other heal.

A Beautiful Start to a New Series. “Wow—now that’s the way to start a new series.

Beach Plum Lane by Ellen Joy pulled me in right away. From the very first page, I was completely drawn into Sophia and Crissy’s world. Their childhood friendship, once so strong, made me reminisce about my own and how life can take people in different directions.

Their decades-long rift added so much depth to the story, making their journey toward healing feel incredibly real. Sophia’s struggle with grief and new beginnings, combined with Crissy’s unraveling perfect life, kept me hooked. Throw in an old flame moving in across the street, and I knew I wasn’t putting this book down.

The mix of friendship, forgiveness, and second chances made this one of those rare reads that I devoured in a single sitting. Ellen Joy has a way of creating characters that feel like old friends, and I loved how naturally the emotions unfolded—nothing felt rushed, and every moment mattered.

The small-town Island setting was the perfect backdrop, making the story feel even more immersive. I found myself rooting for both women, hoping they’d find their way back to each other and to the happiness they deserved. I’m already so invested in these characters and can’t wait to see what’s in store for them in future books. If the rest of the series is anything like this, we’re in for something truly special. Beach Plum Lane is a great addition to any book lover’s collection.

A Killer Creeps…But Ivy and Watson Move Quicker

Threatening notes appear on the teacups at the Tea Room’s grand reopening, and one of them leads to murder.

Ivy Sinclair, a former Chicago journalist, now writes columns for The Maplewood Bulletin. She expected quiet days and long walks with Watson, her loyal beagle. Instead, Mrs. Osgood—the town’s nosiest gossip—collapses after sipping from a poisoned cup.

Officer Roberts brushes off her concerns. Ivy turns instead to Watson’s keen nose and to her neighbor Alice, who can get anyone talking.

The vanishing notes cause panic. Soon, there are many suspects. Clara Pettigrew argued with Mrs. Osgood, and Les Buckley had a feud with her over his baked goods.

And when the newest note names her, Ivy rushes to stop the killer before they strike again.
