I don’t know about your in your family but in mine Mother’s Day doesn’t always show up the way it looks online.
Sometimes you’re tired before the day even starts. Sometimes you don’t want a big plan or a packed schedule. Sometimes you just want the day to feel easier than the rest of the week. Sometimes you just want to be by yourself.
So if that’s where you are this year, here are a few simple ideas:
☕ Keep the morning slow– No rushing, no pressure—just start the day gently.
🛁 Take a real break– Not a “quick minute,” but something that actually gives you space to breathe. that can be an hour or a couple hours and you’re not allowed to feel guilty for the time you take.
🍽️ Make meals easy Order out, keep it simple, let go of the expectation to “do it all.” Or let everyone fend for themselves. They will not die.
🚶♀️ Step outside for a few minutes– Even a short reset can change how the day feels. Just ask me I just did that a few minutes ago.
💛 Let the day be enough as it is– Not perfect. Not planned. Just real.
Mother’s Day doesn’t have to be big to matter. Sometimes small is what makes it feel doable.
Let me know what the perfect Mother’s Day would be for you.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
