As We Enter July: I’m Starting My 7-Day Water & Walking Challenge

The Mommies Reviews

As we enter July, I’ve decided it is time for me to refocus on my health in a simple and realistic way that I can actually maintain. As many of you know, I want to lose over 150 pounds, and as a woman over 60, I will be honest—it is not easy. It is not just about food or exercise. It is about habits, consistency, and learning how to keep going even when life is busy or tiring.

I cannot keep waiting for the perfect time to start. So I am starting now. This week I am doing a simple 7-day water and walking challenge, and I would love for you to join me. My goal is simple. I am going to focus on walking at least 30 minutes a day. That does not mean it has to be all at once. It can be walking around my home, stepping outside for fresh air, or staying active throughout the day. It all counts.

I am also focusing on drinking about 80 ounces of water each day. That is just over eight glasses. When I break it down into smaller parts throughout the day, it becomes much easier to manage.

One glass at a time. Remember this challenge is not about perfection. It is about consistency. Some days will be easier than others. Some days I may fall short. But I am learning that even on imperfect days, I am still moving forward.

Even one step counts. Even one glass counts. Even trying again tomorrow counts. Come and join me as I will be sharing my progress throughout the week, and at the end I will reflect on what worked and what I learned. Then we will begin week 2 on Sunday as I plan on walking the entire month of July Lord willing and the creek don’t rise.

If you have been thinking about starting something for your health, I invite you to join me. Start where you are. Do what you can. Keep going. Because just like the Little Engine “I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.” I know I can and I will somehow someway.

“I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.”

No matter how this week goes, you are still moving forward. There is always tomorrow.

If your in the DFW are and would like to join me on my walking journey I would love to have you. This can be done in person or we can do like my friend Thalia and I used to do and talk on the phone as we walk because we lived in different States but it allowed us to brainstorm and work on our blogs.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
