Captivation Station & FunTrivia: Quizzes – Books for Kids

Charlie and I have been talking about the classes he was taking in school before we removed him.Charlie mentioned they would write stories once a week.

After Charlie let me know this I decided to look for a website that would help Charlie be able to create stories on his own. Without me having to teach Charlie to do this because he gets frustrated with me.
I found a website called CaptivationStation. If you’re looking for a writing class for your students, you might want to check out CaptivationStation as well.
If you have used CaptivationStation in the past what did you think about the website?

CaptivationStation is an innovative digital writing and grammar platform. Based on the award-winning WriteSteps curriculum for 3rd-5th graders. Students get step-by-step daily lessons that they can watch and then practice independently
Age Range: 5-18 (Grades 1-12, with parental supervision)
At this website, you will find many online, interactive quizzes based on children’s literature.
When you get to the site, you will see a menu that you can use to find quizzes according to book series, book author, young adult books, and a general literature category that includes exams on fairy tales.
Don’t let the sparse menu on the landing page fool you – there are tons of quizzes on just about every children’s book imaginable.

Click on a category, and a new page opens with an extensive menu of quizzes indicating the difficulty level of each examination that ranges from easy to severe.

Choose the topic that interests you – and another page opens where you can select what format you want to take the quiz in – HTML or flash. Make your selection, and a new page opens where the examination begins.

It’s fun to test your knowledge and memory of various storylines and characters that you have met in books! That said; parents have different criteria for what is suitable regarding children’s literature. Therefore, as always, parents should preview the site before exploring it with your children.

Note: There are frequent quizzes on many subjects at this site. We have only reviewed the Children’s Literature section. Again, parents should preview this site before exploring it with children.

Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
