Drawing for Beginners: 100+ Ideas and Prompts to Release Your Inner Artist

Drawing for Beginners: 100+ Ideas and Prompts to Release Your Inner Artist published by Jamie Markle is a book I received in exchange for this review.

Charlie has loved to draw since before he could walk. Homeschooling Charlie means I have to teach classes I’m not familiar with or good with. Which is what happens when it comes time for Art.

Even though Charlie is really good at coming up with Art projects on his own I knew we would need more projects with Charlie going into 8th grade this year.

I can’t wait until Charlie has the opportunity to take a look at Drawing for Beginners and look through the 100 Prompts I knew this book would carry us through the school year.

I may never become a Artist I can at least help Charlie with his love of Art. Before you ask what about David does a good job at drawing but doesn’t always take the time to do this with Charlie.

Which will be changing now that we have Drawing for Beginners because once a week we will read a chapter of the book and pick out one prompt to create as a family.

I asked Charlie what he thought our first protect should be and Charlie said Mythical Monsters which I could have guessed and David said we should start with Rock On.

While I wanted to start with Another Suitcase, Another Trip. Charlie can even create a story about Where would you go if you have a Magic Suitcase and David and I can help Charlie with the story for his Creative Writing class.

It will be nice when we go School Supply Shopping this year to have Drawing for Beginners because it gives us a Supply List for the Art Supplies we will need.

To make this year even more memorable I will take the list and purchase the supplies for each of us so we can always draw no, matter what else is happening because its so relaxing.
