I would like to let you know March is National Reading Month. I wanted to share these new uniquely engaging literacy focused GLO FRIENDS Storytime sets which are part of the PLAYSKOOL GLO WORM and GLO FRIENDS line, under license from Hasbro, produced by PlayMonster, a top toy and game company championing the power of play. Who was kind enough to send me one of each set-in exchange for this review.
These book and character sets, are great for ages 2+, allowing parents to enjoy shoulder-to-shoulder time with their young ones as they read about the adventures of their favorite GLO FRIENDS characters. Plus, children can hold the character right by their side, literally bringing the story to life!
Each of these stories teach valuable lessons around Social Emotional Learning through the fun asides (i.e. movement moments, breath breaks, fun facts, and more). Plus, each character (and adorable bug toy) has a glow that throughout the stories the glow will change with the bug’s emotions—which in turn helps children identify their own changing emotions. With three different character options (Bookworm, Wigglebug and Bumblebug), children can collect a whole crew of light-up pals while they simultaneously learn both self-awareness and social skills.
PLAYSKOOL GLO FRIENDS – Bookworm: Stink or Swim!:
In my home it is hard hiding Gifts for upcoming holidays including Easter because there is no, room in this apartment. Which stinks. But I was able to put aside PLAYSKOOL GLO FRIENDS – Bookworm: Stink or Swim!: for my nephew Jason when the Swimming Pool opens this year. Although this is also fun Gift for End of School or Easter.
I love that the Bug glows which could be used for a nightlight. The book is small enough to fit in Jason’s backpack when we are running errands. The smile on the Bugs face is so cute and his ears make you want to squeeze him. I will be back with a full review after Easter because I didn’t want to take the package apart until I was able to give Jason his Gift.

PLAYSKOOL GLO FRIENDS – Wigglebug: Don’t Stop That Wigglehop!:
The second product I received was Wigglebug: Don’t Stop That Wigglehop! which reminded me of Charlie when he was little. Charlie’s nickname was Wiggles because he couldn’t be still. I know these toys are for younger children but I believe I will give this one to Charlie for Easter and we can read the book in our Homeschool Reading Class.
We can make up other stories about Wigglebug in our Creative Writing Class. Charlie and I can illustrate the story in our Art Class. On the nights that its storming and Charlie gets scared he would have a light because Wigglebug glows keeping everyone safe no, matter what is happening around us.
The only downfall I see with Wigglebug is that he is orange. Charlie isn’t too crazy about orange but iI don’t mind orange and this color is fine with me because I may be able to keep Wigglebug on my desk reminding me to Persevere against anything happening.

PLAYSKOOL GLO FRIENDS– Bumblebug: Strong All Along!:
This little Bumblebug reminds me of a Caterpillar which Charlie agreed with. Charlie let me know he liked his blue ears ie antenna because its a pretty color. I like this little Bug is strong which would remind my niece Lily she is as well. I love how in this book we are taught to ask for help when we need it. Grab your favorite snack and beverage and cuddle up with your favorite little person for reading time because even though March has passed there is always time for reading.
