God Gave Us Prayer

I would like to introduce you to a new children’s book God Gave Us Prayer by Lisa Tawn Bergren (WaterBrook, 3/2/21) which I received in exchange for this review.

I’ve always tried to make sure Charlie says his Prayers before eating and bedtime as well as any time he is stressed and doesn’t know what is happening.

I’m Praying my sister and her son also teach my niece Lily and my nephew Jason to always pray. Since I wasn’t sure what they teach the children I let Charlie Skype them and we did Story time with them.

I showed them the book cover for several books and I was so excited when Lily and Jason picked out God Gave Us Prayer. I asked them why they wanted to read this book.

I asked Jason why he picked out God Gave us Prayer Jason said because they Pray and he has always wondered where Pray came from and Charlie agreed with Jason.

Then I asked Lily why she wanted us to read this storybook and she said she liked the Animals on the cover and wanted to know more about them. Charlie said he liked the colors they used in the drawings.

Once we begin to read the book everyone was so quite and each of them asked to read parts of the book. I enjoyed how God Gave Us Prayer brought us all closer and helped the kids relearn there love for reading.

Once we finished God Gave Us Prayer I could hear Lily and Jason explaining the book to there parents and why they wanted to get there own copy of this book. Which I plan on purchasing for them for Christmas.

Charlie and I love all the Prayers throughout the book and have printed them out to put in our Bible Notebook for our Homeschool Bible Class and Charlie even hung some up in our schoolroom.

Charlie and I found words we can use in our Homeschooling Reading Class for Spelling. As well as new Art projects for us to do. In cooking we will be looking up what the animals in the book likes to eat and see how we can create it for our cooking class.

About:

From the creator of God Gave Us YouGod Gave Us Christmas, and  God Gave Us Easter comes a story that teaches young readers how to talk with God about anything that’s on their mind.

Little Pup discovers Mama sitting silently by the lake, praying. But what does that mean? And how does Little Pup go about praying to God? And what do you say to God?

Little Pup’s questions spill out as he and Mama walk through the woods. Mama patiently helps Little Pup learn the importance of prayer, forgiveness, gratefulness, and compassion toward others.

With guided prayers for children to use and inspiration to help them create their own, God Gave Us Prayer gently models the ACTS method of prayer: adoration, confession, thanks, and supplication.

In the familiar voice that millions have grown to trust from her God Gave Us series, Lisa Tawn Bergren introduces kids to the power of prayer.
