Homemade Sugar Free BBQ Sauce

I am trying to watch my sugar intake and it seems that sugar is in EVERYTHING! From drinks to bread and even BBQ Sauce. I can’t give up everything, like BBQ, so I created a sugar free BBQ Sauce recipe that tastes amazing, has less guilt and is low carb for the win.

This Sugar Free BBQ Sauce comes together easily and is wonderful on everything from ribs to chicken. I know you are going to love this recipe and you will want to make it time and time again.

Ingredients

1 cup minced onion

Extra virgin olive oil

Sea salt

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon spicy mustard

1 teaspoon chili powder

Dash dried basil

Dash dried oregano

1 six-ounce can tomato paste

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1/8 teaspoon SweetLeaf® Organic Stevia Sweetener

1 cup water

Directions

Simmer minced onion in extra virgin olive oil.

Whisk in sea salt, garlic, spicy mustard, chili powder, dried basil and oregano, tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, SweetLeaf Organics and water.

Bring all of this to a low boil, cover and let simmer over low heat for 20 to 30 minutes. Let cool and jar. Presto, you are now a condiment connoisseur!

  1. You did a substitution with a sweetener. I see now. We like to use honey which is a natural sweetener. Will give it a try.
