Age Range: 11-17 (Grades 6-12, with parental supervision) Computer geeks of all ages will enjoy this virtual factory tour that explains how ICs (integrated circuits) are made. Presented by Renesas Electronics in Santa Clara, California, the tour uses cartoon characters with speech bubbles of the audio narrated text, photos, and videos to explain the process of making IC chips.

When you arrive at the link, select the “Introduction: IC’s around you” to learn the basics of semiconductors, how and where ICs are used. If you want to skip the introduction, select the “Start Factory Tour” to begin the presentation.
