Homeschooling Resources: Letter of the Week Letter B

As you all know the last 2 weeks we worked on learning and writing the letter A. I would like to let you know this week we’ve move forward with Homeschooling Resources. letter of the Week B. I would like to invite you to study Letter B of the alphabet series.

Did you know the letter b is the beginning of favorite items? From Bread, Butterflies to Bikes. As your working on teaching your students the letter B make sure you have a Cookie Cutter in the shape of a B. You can make cookies or sandwiches during the week. If you’re teaching your children to cook let them cut up the bread which begins with the letter b. Then let them put favorite filling on the Bread.

The sound this letter stands for is  – /b/ as in Banana.

Music 

In your Music Class I would like to ask you to check out the following song:                                                                                                                      I’m Bringing Home A Baby Bumblebee and act out what happens in the song.

Study and listen to Music composed from Ludwig Van Beethoven.                                                                                                                                Then discuss which instruments you hear and why do you think he choose those instruments.

Snacks for the week:

For a Field Trip this week go to the Grocery Store and look for products that begin with the Letter B.

Including the following items and pick some up for your Snacks this week.

Or pick up a Cake Mix or Bread Mix like Banana Nut and prepare the Bread in your cooking class.

Banana Milk, Banana Nut Cake, Bread or Muffin, Sugar Cookies in the Letter B, Banana, Bread, Butter

Art:

us the color blue and draw a Picture using different shades of Blue or chalk.

Cut out pictures using different shades of blue to create a collage and then write a story

about your creation. 

Field Trip:

Visit a Bakery. Then purchase cookies that have the Letter B on them.

Take the cookies with you and go on a hen take walk in your neighborhood.

See what items you can find that start with the Letter B,.

While on your walk see if you can spot a Buttercup or a Blue Bird.

Join Lily, Jason, Payton, Charlie and I as we make Sugar Cookies.

Then the kids will cut the Cookies out into the Letter B. We will add White Icing or Chocolate Icing to our cookies and Sprinkles.

Easy Sugar Cookies

  • Ready In

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.
