Graduation for Charlie and his Gift from NRH20

Charlie worked so hard this year to pass the STARR test so he could progress to 6th Grade. My family wanted to do something special for Charlie. I wanted to host a party but due to finances I wasn’t able to do that. I couldn’t even purchase a Gift for Charlie or take him out to dinner. My friend Debbie purchased a Gift for Charlie but she forget to bring it to Graduation. Which is okay as he will have something next week allowing the celebration to last even longer making graduation more fun.

Charlie’s grandmother let me know she needed Charlie for about a hour after school. I didn’t know why she wanted Charlie but I sent him to her home. Charlie came home with a NRH20 pass to the Water Park he can go to this Summer.

Charlie asked me what was he supposed to do with the pass because he knew he couldn’t go to NRH20 by himself .I knew none of Charlie’s friends would have a pass and could go with Charlie. I went online and tried to figure out what all came with the pass. I was confused because I didn’t know which package Sherry paid for.

I ended up getting up on Sunday morning/ I let Charlie know we could go to NRH20 and see what all the pass covered. Once we arrived we went inside to the office. The staff was so kind and explained everything to Charlie and I. Which finally got Charlie excited about his pass.

The staff even gave me a piece of paper with all the information for Charlie’s pass on it. As we were leaving Charlie said mom, I have the Buddy Pass and you, me and dad can come back. I made sure the Buddy Passes was good for any age. Then I asked if they could be used that day. When they said they could we went home and got our Swimming Suits on.

We headed back to NRH20, but I felt bad using Charlie’s passes because this keeps his friends from going with him, though without a adult Charlie and his friends wouldn’t be able to go to NRH20. We were BLESSED we went on Sunday morning before Church was out. NRH20 wasn’t packed, Charlie and David were able to ride all the slides and not, have to wait in a long line.

Charlie played in NRH₂Ocean (Wave Pool forever. I did get in NRH Ocean (Wave Pool} with Charlie. I had a lot of fun as well. I just had to stay close to the wall and hold on because the waves were strong. The waves would almost knock me off my feet.

Charlie’s favorite slide was the Viper because Charlie and David could use the Inner tubs and go down together. Charlie asked me to try Viper with him. I have trouble climbing stairs and sometimes heights bothers me which I had to explain to Charlie letting Charlie why I never ride the slides.

I sat out on one of the Beach Chairs where I was able to rest and relax. I had a perfect seat where I could see Charlie and David come off the Viper. Which was fun hearing Charlie and David laugh with each other.

While we were at NRH20 the Green Extreme wasn’t working which made Charlie a little bit sad. With Charlies Summer Pass he can go back and see if it’s working that is if Charlie finds a friend with a parent going.

There are 6 slides at NRH 20 and Charlie didn’t want to try them all out because he knew his dad was tired. If were able to return to NRH 20 then I know Charlie and David will try out all the Slides.

I wanted to spend my day at Beachside Bay because its a Pool. I could relax in. Although Charlie wanted to play Volleyball but we didn’t know where to get a ball from or if we should have brought our own. Before we return I will call NRH 20 and ask them. Then I will have everything we need. Including Snacks and Beverages even though we could order food and let me tell you the Hamburgers they were grilling smelled so good.

My favorite part of the day was spending time in the Endless River with Charlie and David. I would like to let you know there are Drop-offs in the pool.I tripped a couple times because I wasn’t watching where I was going. If I hadn’t caught myself my knee would have went out. I would have fallen. Although now, that I know this I know what to watch for and it will not happen next time.

Charlie want”s me to see if my sister or my Niece and Nephew will bring Lily and Jason out to play in Tadpole Swimming Hole. In the kiddie area there is three slides they would enjoy. Although, I doubt there parents would bring them.

There parents would be able to ride on the yellow slide with them. I bet you Alyssa and David are on the big slides leaving Charlie to use the yellow slide with Lily and Jason. Which would be perfect for me because I would get to spend time with all the kids.

I let Charlie know David and I could play with Lily and Jason in Frogstein’s Splashatory because families can play in there together. I can see us creating a lot of memories here. Charlie’s Birthday being in December I could host a early Birthday Party or Back to School Party for Charlie. I might see if David would like to watch Fireworks at NRH 20 .

Charlie let me know NRH 20 host concerts. I can’t wait to see who is playing. Once we find out I might try and get tickets and take Charlie. NRH20 would be the perfect place for Charlie to see his first concert. After looking through the website and seeing the Dive-In Movies I wish I had been able to get a pass for David and I. David is off nights now and we could see a show and swim at the same time.

I was looking through the movies Charlie let me know he would like to come back and see Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse. I hope we can come up with the money to bring Charlie. If we are able to go would you like to meet us for Family-Movie Night?

I now know year if Sherry is going to purchase a pass for Charlie I will use NRH 20 Law-A-Way Policy and purchase a pass for David and I. I can make payments and as long as the passes are paid for before the park opens we would have our own pass . We wouldn’t have to worry about going or not going.

With Charlie’s pass he was given a Water Bottle which sells out fast. Meaning I need to go back and pick up a second one soon. Because the first day you get all the refills you want for free. After that it is only $1 per fill up. Or you can purchase a pass that is good for the entire day,. hen you can fill your cups up as many times as your heart desires.

Charlie also wanted me to let you know he got a free Funnel Cake with his pass which he hasn’t used yet. I let Charlie know not to let his Aunt or she might take the Funnel Cake.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates

  1. Sounds like he had a blast and we would love to go this year maybe we can all meet up so the kids can have a great time and I had no idea about the Lay-A-Way policy definitely going to look into season passes.

I like NRH2O. I could stay in the lazy river all day. I also like to go early get a good seat and just relax on the beach chairs. I would love to go down the slides but with my fibromyalgia those stairs are murder. I think they are reasonably priced and they very often have coupons at the local grocery stores or McDonald’s. I know my grandkids love going with their parents and friends.
