🎌 Anime & Culture Check-In: What’s Trending This Week in 2026

Anime King Gaming & Streaming Teen & Parent Series Video Games

The more Charlie changes the more into Anime he is becoming. As I was talking to C this morning, we began to discuss 🎌 Anime & Culture Check-In: What’s Trending This Week in 2026 that I might want to check out while he is in Hobart.

At this point, not only in my home but Mikaly’a’s home as well as my nieces and nephew’s home anime and gaming culture basically blend together in our homes. Is it this way in your home as well? Or are your children and teens into something else?

One minute Charlie is talking about a game update, the next minute he’s explaining anime lore, showing me a trailer, talking about character builds, or waiting for some release date that apparently the entire internet already knows about except me.

And somehow every conversation turns into: Move over mom let me show you something. Or mom work can wait “Mom, let me explain…”

Honestly though, I kind of love it.

As much as I hate to admit it, but I don’t remember anime being around when I was a child back when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth as Charlie likes to say. No, Charlie and Bradley say Anime now is so different from when they were younger as well because back then people kept that stuff to themselves. Now? It’s everywhere.

You walk into stores and see anime shirts. People decorate entire gaming setups with anime themes.
There are figures, posters, collectibles, themed drinks, conventions, TikToks, cosplay videos, and game collabs constantly showing up online.

This week especially feels busy in the anime world.

Everybody’s arguing over new Spring 2026 anime. Gaming collabs keep dropping. Cosplayers are already planning convention outfits. Manga readers are trying not to spoil things for everybody else. And somehow UTubers are involved in almost everything now.

Meanwhile Charlie’s over here watching trailers like it’s a full-time job. And can we talk about cosplay people for a second because HOW are they this talented now? Some of these costumes look professionally made. The wigs, makeup, armor pieces, props, lights — it’s honestly art at this point.

I think my favorite thing about anime culture now is seeing how many different people connect through it.

Some people love the stories. Some love the gaming side. Some collect figures. Some watch for comfort.
Some love the music. Some are there for the action scenes alone.

There’s honestly room for everybody now.

And around here? Anime, gaming, YouTube, trailers, and late-night discussions about fictional characters are just kind of part of life now.

🎮🎌 So what’s everybody into right now? Watching anything good? Waiting on a game release?
Collecting anything lately? Come and share your thoughts about Anime and cosplay with us below.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
