London, UK – May 28, 2025 – Memrise, the language learning app that uses Science-backed techniques and real-world content to make language learning fun and effective, today announced the launch of its 30-Day Language Challenge, designed to help users build a consistent learning habit this Summer. The challenge kicks off on June 2, 2025, and is open to all Memrise users via the iOS and Android apps.
Over the course of 30 days, participants will be encouraged to commit to daily language learning using Memrise’s AI-powered tools and immersive video content. The goal: develop a habit that sticks – and for one lucky learner – a $1,000 travel voucher to put their new language skills to use in the culture of a country associated with their chosen language.
“Language learning shouldn’t be a daily guilt trip just to keep a streak alive – it should feel motivating,” said Steve Toy, CEO of Memrise. “This challenge is about proving that small, consistent efforts – even just 10 minutes a day – can lead to real progress and lasting confidence. We wanted to create something that’s genuinely rewarding for our users, and we’re excited to see how far it takes them.”
The challenge is open to learners of all levels and languages offered on Memrise. To participate, users must register in-app and simply engage in daily language learning activities for 30 days. Ahead of the challenge close date on July 2nd, participating learners will be prompted to submit a screenshot of their “My Activities” tracker that shows how many words users learned, heard and used. Thereafter, one lucky participant will be randomly selected to receive a $1,000 travel voucher.
To join, users can download or update the Memrise app and look for the in-app prompt to register for the challenge. The winner will be announced via email on Monday, July 7th.
