If your #Homeschooling younger children and teaching them to cook then you should add Cake!: An Interactive Recipe Book to your School Supply List and have not only this book in your Library but the other 5 books in the series.

Before you ask Cake! An Interactive Recipe Book is the only book I’ve read in the series but it will not be the last book which I want to share with my niece and nephew. Charlie wanted me to let you know if your going to ready the book to make sure you’ve eaten because the Cake will make you hungry and yes, that is true because by the time I finished reading the story I wanted a piece or two of Cake.

Charlie thought it was fun how the Author reminded us no, food is required when reading the story. Inside the book is a recipe and it shows us pictures of all the ingredients we will need and the pans and utensils were going to use.

The illustrations are bright and colorful and will have children owing and ahhing over the drawings. Children will need a adults help as they need to pre-heat the stove. There is pictures in the book that has you moving things which can be used for sensory issues.

There is a picture of a mixer and how it is used which is a #teachingmoment for little children. Make sure you take your children on a #FieldTrip to Baking Store or Grocery Shop to pick up Sprinkles to decorate there Cake with.

I love how the Author reminds the children to ask for help when checking to see if the Cake is done. I love how the Author included a recipe for Frosting ie Icing which I need to make a double amount of because I don’t know about you but I like to eat Frosting.

Charlie likes to eat raw Cake Dough and no, I don’t recommend you doing this but it is so good and I grew up eating raw Cake Dough which we’ve all been told isn’t good for us. Don’t judge me because I know it isn’t healthy but sometimes we want to splurge.

When grocery shopping don’t forget piping bags and tips to decorate your Cake with. I went to cut the Cake and low and behold the slice of Cake slid right out of the book which is why it’s interactive. The Cake is so pretty I wanted to keep the slice to decorate my desk with.
