NESCONSET, NY – (December 22, 2025) — Paws of War is honored to have received a $30,000 grant from The Human-Animal Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting human-animal connection nationwide.

“When we first discovered the War-Torn Pups & Cats program, we were deeply moved by its unique and powerful mission,” said Jackie Ducci, Founder of The Human-Animal Alliance. “We are thrilled to support Paws of War and their extraordinary commitment to honoring the human-animal bond, improving the lives of both veterans and animals.”

The Human-Animal Alliance (H-AA), founded in 2022 by advocate and philanthropist Jackie Ducci, funds exceptional grassroots programs that foster and protect life-changing connections between people and animals. To date, H-AA has awarded more than $350,000 in grants nationwide. Ducci personally covers all overhead expenses, ensuring that every dollar donated directly supports charitable work.

The grant will directly support Paws of War’s War Torn Pups & Cats program, a mission that rescues animals befriended by U.S. service members deployed overseas. Many of these dogs and cats have survived the harshest conditions, war zones, abandonment, and danger, only because a soldier showed them compassion. When deployment ends, these service members often have no safe way to bring the animals home.

“We are incredibly grateful to The Human-Animal Alliance for supporting this important work,” said Robert Misseri, Co-Founder of Paws of War. “Every rescue represents a bond formed in the most difficult circumstances imaginable. With this grant, we can save more animals from overseas conflict zones and bring them safely to the heroes whose lives they helped lift.”

Paws of War steps in to coordinate international rescues, emergency veterinary care, safe transport, and reunification in the United States. In many cases, these animals become emotional anchors for the heroes who protected them.

Paws of War is proud to partner with The Human-Animal Alliance to preserve these powerful human-animal connections and expand the impact of this dedicated program.
