National Write Your Story Day — March 14
Celebrating National Write Your Story Day
Every family has a story. Every mom has a journey. Every child has a voice waiting to be heard. National Write Your Story Day, is celebrated each year on March 14, is a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and capture the moments that shape who we are. Whether you’re a seasoned writer, a busy mom juggling a million things, or a child discovering the magic of storytelling for the first time, today invites you to put your heart on paper.
As a homeschool mom, blogger, wife, and dog‑lover, this day speaks to me in a special way. Writing has always been my safe place — a space where memories become lessons, where challenges turn into chapters, and where the everyday moments of family life become something worth celebrating. Today, I’m opening the door a little wider and inviting you into my world, my family, and the stories that make our home uniquely ours.
My Story: A Cozy Peek Into Our Family Life
Hi friends, I’m Glenda — the heart behind TheMommiesReviews.com..
My life is a blend of creativity, family, homeschooling, cooking, and celebrating the little joys that make motherhood such a beautiful adventure. I’ve always believed that stories connect us — they help us understand each other, support each other, and laugh together. So today, in honor of National Write Your Story Day, I’m sharing a little more about who I am and the people (and pup!) who fill my life with love. God, family and faith with Coffee is my moto and how I get through this thing called LIFE.
My Husband: My Steady Partner
My husband David is the calm to my chaos, the laughter in my long days, and the one who reminds me that even when life gets busy, there’s always room for joy. He’s the person who listens to my ideas, encourages my creativity, and supports every new project I dream up for the blog. Our story is built on teamwork, humor, and a whole lot of love with mistakes and tears thrown in for good measure.
My Son: My Inspiration Every Day
My son is the spark behind so many of the homeschool activities, recipes, and family posts I share. Charlie ask C, Wiggles, Waddles Budda or Bones is curious, funny, thoughtful, and always ready to try something new — especially if it involves cooking or hands‑on learning. Watching him grow, learn, and discover the world is one of the greatest blessings of my life. He teaches me just as much as I teach him.
Then there is my Angel is heaven Suzzane. She was a true girly girl and lover of all things pink She is the reason I learned how to be a mom. Her and her dog Samuel Tigger Ice are the reason I am who I am today and the reason for my love of GOD and family.
Our Dogs: The Furry Loves of the Family
No family story is complete without the dogs who steals hugs and kisses, begs for food even though they’ve been taught not to beg, and curls up beside us at night stealing the bed and covers. Pheobie and Bear add joy, chaos, and comfort to our home. There pawprints are on our floors, our hearts just like Sandi, Lucy and Max.
Cookies, Books & Cozy Moments
In our home, stories are often shared over Pizza and a movie. Because there’s something magical about sitting together, enjoying a slice of Pizza and letting memories flow. This morning Charlie and I baking a fresh batch of sugar cookies to enjoy while we write, work, play video games and watch movies, while reflecting on this thing called Life.
Homeschool Fun for #WriteYourStoryDay
If you’re looking for simple, meaningful ways to celebrate #WriteYourStoryDay with your kids, here are activities that blend creativity, literacy, and family bonding.
1. My Life in 10 Sentences
A perfect writing prompt for kids of all ages. Ask them to write 10 sentences about themselves — their favorite things, their dreams, their funniest memory, their proudest moment, and something they want to learn this year.
2. Draw Your Story
For younger children or visual learners, drawing is storytelling too. Have them illustrate a favorite memory or a moment that makes them smile.
3. Family Story Circle
Sit together and take turns sharing stories from your childhood, your family traditions, or funny moments that still make you laugh. Kids love hearing stories about their parents when they were young.
