The other night when we stopped into the Dollar Store, I saw these boxes that was created around themes like Date Night Kit, the Book Club and the Cocktail Club. The boxes didn’t look like anything special at first, the kits were just one of those simple finds you might pass by without a second glance at Dollar Tree.
I didn’t know it but the one for a Date Night I had purchased but it was actually empty, but the box still gave enough detail to piece together the full experience of what this date night kit is meant to be. For David and I it feels like one of those small creative tools that can turn an ordinary evening into something worth remembering.
The Date Night Kit is centered around connection and playfulness, and you will find a set of prompted date cards designed to guide couples through different themed experiences. One of the standout ideas mentioned is a “around the world dinner” night, where each part of the meal is inspired by a different place. The kind of concept that doesn’t require anything fancy, just a willingness to slow down and make the night feel intentional.
Inside the Date Night Kit is also a twenty-page memory booklet included, which is really where the emotional side of the kit shows up. Each page gives space for the date, a short reflection on what you did, and a spot for a photo.
This turns the Date Night Kit int turns something into a keepsake, almost like building a personal scrapbook of your time together. Which is perfect for someone just starting to date like Charlie and Mikalyia.
Along with that, there are ten photo sticker frames and a sticker sheet with phrases like “loved it,” “date night,” “I love you,” “yum,” “100%,” “would do it again,” and “10 out of 10,” which makes it feel lighthearted and a little playful in the best way.
The Date Night Kit also comes with a five-star rating system, which is less about formal reviewing and more about giving each date a fun, shared score afterward. It will be fun to see how David and I rate the dates we go on.
Do you think our rating will match or not? Knowing David and I most likely not but that is okay as well because it turns our date into a reflection and interactive instead of just conversation, almost like closing out each experience with a little ritual.
What stands out most is how structured yet flexible the Date Night Kit feels. It doesn’t demand expensive plans or complicated setups. Instead, it gives couples prompts and tools to build moments out of everyday time.
Even in its simplest form, it’s easy to see how the Date Night kit could fit alongside similar themed activity sets from Dollar Tree, especially for anyone who enjoys turning ordinary nights into something a little more memorable without overthinking it.
There’s something quietly thoughtful about it, especially the memory book and photo elements. It naturally encourages slowing down, documenting moments, and making space for connection that might otherwise get lost in the routine of daily life.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
