I don’t know about you but I have something I would like to share with you if you’ve been looking for a simple way to earn a little extra money online, I would like to introduce you to Swagbucks which you may or may not have heard of.. I recently decided to take my own Swagbucks journey more seriously, and instead of keeping everything to myself, I thought it would be fun to share what I’m learning along the way.
My goal is to grow my account from 11,218 Swagbucks to 30,000 Swagbucks by Christmas. If I reach that goal, I’ll have enough for about $300 in gift cards, which can help with Christmas shopping and gifts for my family.
By no, means I am not expert on Swagbucks and I wanted to let you know I’m still learning, and that’s exactly why I wanted to write this guide. If you’re just getting started, you can learn right alongside me. Or if you’ve been on Swagbucks a while and have tips to share please leave me a comment and I will add them to our guide.
What Is Swagbucks?
Swagbucks is a free rewards program that lets members earn points, called SB, for completing everyday online activities. Those points can be exchanged for gift cards from many popular retailers or, depending on the rewards available, cash through supported redemption options. I use mine for Paypal Gift Cards.
While it won’t replace a full-time job, it can be a nice way to earn a little extra spending money if you’re consistent.
Who Can Benefit from Swagbucks?
Swagbucks may be a good fit for:
- Stay-at-home parents
- College students
- Retirees
- Busy families
- Anyone wanting to save for birthdays or Christmas
- Teens who meet the program’s age requirements and have permission from a parent or guardian when appropriate.
Ways to Earn Swagbucks
One of the things I like is that there isn’t just one way to earn points.
Complete Surveys– Surveys are one of the most common ways to earn SB. Some are short, while others take more time and offer larger rewards. Not every survey will be a match, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t qualify for every one.
I try and spend at least 30 minutes a day doing survey’s and I try and make at least 25 points a day but prefer 50 or more points.
Daily Poll– The Daily Poll only takes a few seconds to answer and is one of the easiest ways to earn a few points every day. I can do this online or on my phone.
Daily To-Do List– One of my personal goals is to complete the Daily To-Do List whenever possible. It encourages me to stay active and helps me build a daily habit.
Shopping Online My family doesn’t shop online but you’re shopping online, checking Swagbucks first may help you earn cashback in the form of SB through participating stores. Which I need to check into.
Magic Receipts
If you purchase qualifying grocery or household products, you may be able to upload your receipt and earn additional SB. There has been lots of times when they’ve had items we would have used but I didn’t purchase the products and upload the receipt so I lost out.
Special Offers– Sometimes Swagbucks offers bonus opportunities for trying apps, signing up for services, or completing special promotions. Always read the terms carefully before participating. If you sign up for something make sure you keep track of when you need to redo the subscription so your not paying for something you wouldn’t use.
Seasonal Bonuses
Throughout the year, Swagbucks often features special events and bonus opportunities. These promotions can be a great way to increase your earnings if you’re already planning to use the site regularly.
Tips That I’m Following
Since I’m learning too, here are the habits I’m working on:
- Log in every day.
- Complete the Daily Poll.
- Finish the Daily To-Do List whenever possible.
- Check for bonus offers before logging out.
- Keep track of my daily earnings.
- Be patient and stay consistent.
Small amounts earned every day can really add up over several months.
My Christmas Challenge
On July 1, 2026, I started with 11,218 SB.
My goal is to reach 30,000 SB by Christmas shopping season, and I’ll be sharing weekly updates so you can follow my progress.
Some weeks will be better than others, and that’s okay. I want this series to show what a real person can earnβnot perfect results, just honest ones.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Swagbucks free?– Yes. Joining is free.
Can you really earn gift cards?– Yes. Members can redeem qualifying SB for available rewards once they reach the required amount.
Will I get rich using Swagbucks?– No. I see it as a way to earn a little extra money, not replace a regular income.
How much do I hope to earn?– My personal goal is to reach 30,000 SB before Christmas so I can use those rewards toward holiday shopping.
Saving money doesn’t always mean cutting expenses. Sometimes it means finding small ways to earn a little extra throughout the year. That’s exactly what I’m hoping to do with my Swagbucks challenge.
