I wanted to share The Soda Shoppe: 50 great drink recipes by Gabriella Stern (Author), 50s Vintage Dame (Illustrator) which I received in exchange for this review. Inside this post is my affiliate links. If you click on the links and make a purchase I will make a small percentage from the products you purchase.
I love how the drink recipes come in a small box designed to look like a Soda Shoppe from the 50’s. If only we could go inside and order a Shake with 2 straws to share. The box is done in green and pink my daughter’s and my sister’s favorite colors which I like a lot.
On the box on is the title The Soda Shoppe and on the windows it says 60 great drink recipes and the doors say’s now open and on the last door it says Retro Sodas, Floats and Egg Creams which I didn’t know what that was. Do you know what a Egg Cream is? Have you had one?
Inside the box is a introduction pamphlet. With instructions on how to use the book. A note on equipment and garnishes, and a not on Ice Type always crushed for me. What about you? Then there is a page on basics which talks about simple syrups. Including Simple Syrup, Brwon Sugar Simple Syrup and a few others.
The cards are so cute reminding us they are retro drinks including a Shirley Temple that serves 1 with a fun little glass on the page. Then there is a Roy Rogers recipe. How about a Orange Crush? Did you know there is a virgin Arnold Palmer?
I can’t wait to share the recipe for Strawberry Soda with David. For the 4th of July there is a Cola Float. Doesn’t that sound good in this heat? Charlie might like the Coffee Float. David’s Root Beer Float is in here as well. They just didn’t have a recipe for Cherry Coke or Cherry Dr. Pepper my favorite.
Each card comes with the recipe on the back of the card with the ingredients you would need to purchase to make the recipe. Along with info about the drinks which could be shared in a #Homeschool Cooking Class for Home Economics. I can’t wait to serve these drinks at our next party.
