There are events that stick in our mind although as we get busy they get moved to the back of the mind for a while. Which is what happened to me last weekend when I was working. I kept hearing a voice nudging me to check my calendar because I had forgotten a very important date.
I opened up my calendar and my heart sunk to the floor when I saw we were supposed to be at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra that evening. Instead of panicking because David wasn’t home from work and we didn’t have Charlie’s good clothes cleaned out. I kept on working and let God know I had made a mistake. As I did I felt a peace of calm.
The next thing I knew the door opened up and David walked he. David asked me what was going on. I let him know we were supposed to attend Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty at 7:30 pm. David let me know to keep working and he would get Charlie’s clothes washed and get them ready.
As I sat at my desk I bowed my head to thank the Lord for my family as well as my blog and the events it has brought into our lives. I got off the computer and went to get ready. Once we were ready to leave we went out to the car. I was worried we would be late arriving at Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty because we left later than we should have.
Although the Lord cleared the roads and we were able to make it into Dallas without any traffic. Once we arrived and found parking in a new lot. We were able to walk to the Dallas Symphony. Allowing us to spend time together without electronics. Enjoying each others company and getting to talk.
Once we arrived at the Dallas Symphony David went downstairs and got the tickets for us. While Charlie and I browsed through the Gift Shop adding items to our Christmas Wish List including a pair of Opera Glasses for Charlie and myself. David walked into the Gift Shop and was also able to shop a little bit and found Gifts for his parents.
We went back upstairs and went inside to our seats. Charlie and David thought Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty was a Ballet and were surprised to find out Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty was the Symphony again. I asked Charlie and David if they was upset and they said they weren’t.
As the Concert started I could see David start to relax and Charlie becoming immersed into the Concert. Once the Concert was finished I asked both Charlie and David what they thought of Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty. Charlie let me know he loved the music and couldn’t wait to share where he went with his music teacher.
David let me know he loved Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty and asked me how long they would be playing because he would like to purchase tickets for his mom for Christmas. Then they asked me what I thought of Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty. I let Charlie and David know I loved Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty. The only thing missing was being able to bring my daughter and Uncle Chuck who would have loved seeing Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty.
This week I have been asked by both Charlie and David when we would be returning to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. I let them know I didn’t have any other visits planned although I knew there were events coming up I would like to attend. Including a Concert on New Years Eve. I may purchase tickets to the shows and place the tickets inside Charlie and David’s stockings.
I believe I need to find a Ballet for us to attend. A Ballet would be a once in a life time experience for our family and the Ballet Ballet would be something we all would enjoy.
