A Day In Weatherford, Texas Vintage Car Museum

David, Charlie and I spend a day in Weatherford, Texas for a Homeschool Field Trip. While there we went into the Vintage Car Museum were we were greeted by a gentleman who explained things to us.

As we looked around I could see both Charlie and David getting excited to see what cars were on display. But I had to stop by the Vintage Juke Box before venturing into the Museum.

Never ask a man to take a picture because as you can see my EYES are closed. What was David thinking?

Then we ventured into the Museum and all I can say is OMG. I was blown away at all the cars and I found several my dad would have enjoyed seeing. As well as Donald Trump standing outside the door. If only he had been real I would have thanked Mr. Trump for all he did for our Country.
Then I would have let Mr. Trump know I wish he had remained President and so does David. If your opinion differs with mine that is fine. But if you don’t have anything kind to say PLEASE keep it to yourself.

I kept walking through and I came to the car that was in the movie Pearl Harbor and I just stood and stared at the car because its one of my favorite movies.

Charlie and I will be watching Pearl Harbor this year when we study Pearl Harbor in History class and now Charlie will be able to enhance his studies by sharing facts about the Car he learned from visiting the Museum.

As we continued to walk through the Museum I hear mom come here NOW! I need to show you something. You will not believe they have the car from the movie The Godfather.

Once Charlie said this I stopped in my tracks because I’ve watched this movie so many times and wished I could have been there. I went and looked at the car.

As I did Charlie let me know he can’t wait to watch Godfather with me which he hadn’t wanted to do until seeing the car. Once Charlie said he would watch the movie with me David said make sure it’s on a night I am home so I can watch it with you.

David couldn’t wait to let me know the President Johnson’s car was inside the Museum. Charlie will be studying both the Car and the President when we learn about the Presidents of the United States.

Even George “No, Show” Jones had a car in the Museum and I wish my dad and my sister had been with us because my dad would have gotten a kick out of seeing this car. Because as a child we had a kitten who my dad called

No, Show Jones because he wouldn’t come when we called him. Since the cat belonged to my sister sharing the Museum with her would have been a nice way to remember our dad who is gone.

Charlie had fun seeing this he hadn’t ever seen in person like a Parking Meter and for David to explain were they were used and how much they cost when we were children.

Charlie and I discussed the Taxi that was on display and talked about who the Taxi might have picked up and why. As well as which City the Taxi might have serviced giving us a Lesson in Creative Writing.

Museum

Like fine art displayed in a museum, classic cars and trucks are lovingly showcased at the Vintage Car Museum & Event Center just east of the Parker County Courthouse Square.

Restoring cars and getting a new generation interested is important, Moncrief said. The retiring generation love sharing what they have, with each other and with other aficionados.
