A Hidden Gem In Hurst, Texas Chisom Aquatic Center

As a child, my family would always count down until Summer. We knew we would be able to visit one of our favorite places in the world. A Hidden Gem In Hurst, Texas Chisom Aquatic Center. We knew this was the one place our parents would swim with us.

Fast forward, and now I’m an adult, andhave a daughter of my own. My sister has her son. I remember my sister and me packing lunches and gathering all the supplies moms need to take their children on an outing.

Then we would head out to Chisom Aquatic Center. I remember the closer we would get to the park the more excited Debbie and I would get as we wondered if it was still open and if it had changed.

Once we pulled into the Parking Lot, we would stop at the Play Ground, and the kids would get out of the car. Off we would head to feed the ducks. Once we ran out of food, we would take off to the Play Ground or the                    Swimming Pool where the kids would play for hours and hours. We would have lunch and dinner at the Park because  none of us wanted to leave.

Fast forward again. Now I’m bringing Charlie to Chisom Aquatic Center, and even though it has changed over the years, it is Charlie’s favorite place to go Swimming. There are Slides and Diving Boards. Charlie is turning 12 this year, and he loves playing on the Play Ground as well as feeding the Ducks.

Charlie and his dad have even fished in the pond. I love being able to walk through the park which is so peaceful. There are so many things to see. From children playing Basketball to people playing Baseball in the park. Or Families picnicking in the park. Charlie and I also enjoy watching people walk there dogs through the park.

I love when you arrive at the playgrounds there is a sign explaining to you which age each section each set of toys are designed to use. Having the sign keeps the bigger kids off, the smaller kids playground.

The floor that you walk on to get to the swings and slides are soft so children wouldn’t get hurt, and the play ground is big enough for a              Wheel Chair to fit on it. I’ve even seen adults playing on the Play Ground.

Inside the Swimming, Poll is Diving Boards and Slides. Along with a                Lazy River. My family was able to bring my nephew and niece out last year, and even though all three children are different ages, there was something for each child to do.

I love knowing I can sit down and watch the kids play and not have to worry about someone taking them or them getting lost because the park is too big.

My husband uses the slides with the kids, and he doesn’t have any trouble getting on or off of them. Charlie has even been able to do the                          Diving Boards on his on and taught other children how to dive. All the           Life Guards and staff care about the people that visit                        Chisom Aquatic Center turning this into a family friendly park.

For my family, this is our 4th generation visiting Chisom Aquatic Center and this Summer my Stepdaughter will be taking her child for the first time, and I can’t wait to see what they think about this hidden gem.
