A Very Dinosaur Birthday

I would like to share a new children’s book with you. A Very Dinosaur Birthday by Adam Wallace Illustrated by Christopher Nielson who sent me a physical copy of the book in exchange for this review.

Both my children Suzzane and Charlie love Dinosaurs but then they differ because Suzzane loves Birthday Parties and Charlie about the time Charlie turned 12 he decided he didn’t like Cake and didn’t want Birthday parties ever. But as his mom I still throw him parties and yes, at first Charlie gets mad but as the party goes on Charlie loosens up and has fun. Not that Charlie will ever admit that.

This year Charlie turns 15 and I’ve decided I want to do a Retro or throw back party and have the guest bring one thing that reminds them of Charlie throughout the years. For me that could be Tomater from the Cars movies, or Thomas the Train or even Wrestling memorabilia along with books he liked to read as a child we can donate to our local Childrens Hospital and one of the books I plan on having at the part is A Very Dinosaur because when Charlie was little we could collect and play with Dinosaurs for hours.

This morning if you have a DINOSAUR lover in your life I hope you take the time to check out A Very Dinosaur Birthday. Charlie and I had so much fun looking at the cover of the book that it took us a little while to get inside the book to read the story. Doesn’t that Cake look yummy? Wouldn’t you want a slice of it because I would. Before you ask what about Charlie. Remember he doesn’t like Cakes. Crazy kid.

Charlie thought it was funny to learn Dinosaurs are FARTY like his dad he said and our dog Annie. Yes, at times our home stinks from FARTS so you might want to call before coming to visit. Charlie and I love seeing what all the Dinosaurs can do to make a party fun even though things might go wrong.

Once the party is over your parents may be stressed and say never again can you invite Dinosaurs into your home but if you’re really lucky maybe they will let them come back for Christmas. But I wouldn’t hold my breath. Instead, I would help your parents clean up all the messes they left behind so maybe your parents will replace the gifts that got broken or pick up a new cake for you since yours ended up all over your face. Just remember whatever happens you invited the dinosaurs, and they were only trying to have fun just like you.

Your family will roar with laughter at this funny read-aloud from Adam Wallace, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the How to Catch series. What if dinosaurs showed up at your birthday party? From prehistoric presents to games crashing out of control and your snacks going extinct, it’s a dino disaster.

Dinosaurs are big, and strong, and scary, and farty,

So do you really want them coming to your birthday party?

Watch out! Birthdays will never be the same with this silly picture book adventure featuring lively rhymes and hilarious illustrations!

About the Author

I love writing stories that make children laugh and get excited about reading and drawing and writing . I also love taking naps and listening to music. Not at the same time. Well, sometimes. It depends on the song.

I have worked hard and have been fortunate enough to have had over 100 books published and out in the world, and love each one as if it were my child … except if that child is like really naughty and always breaks my favourite things and writes bad words on the walls of our house.

None of my books are like that, and imagine if you had over 100 kids! That is terrifying!.

From How to Catch books to How to Draw books. From gross books to action and adventure books. From rhyming to prose, inspirational to just plain silly, there’s something for kids of all reading abilities, and all ranges of interests.

And now, on JUNE 20, 2023, A BRAND NEW SERIES is kicking off, starting with … A VERY DINOSAUR BIRTHDAY!
