The Adventures of Mouse and Mole Review

I am updating the review, Charlie and I had written for The Adventures of Mouse and Mole Volume 1 and The Adventures of Mouse and Mole: Volume 2  Inside the review, I had done in the past there were some things I had left our when we first wrote the review for The Adventures of Mouse and Mole Volume 1 and The Adventures of Mouse and Mole: Volume 2 These are DVD’s that were sent to Charlie and me to watch. The thoughts in this review are ours and ours alone.

The Adventures of Mouse and Mole Vol. 1

Charlie and I both love to watch movies which we could do all day long and never get tired of. I like having educational DVDs for Charlie and I. Such as The Adventures of Mouse and Mole Volume 1 and The Adventures of Mouse and Mole: Volume 2. Both volumes are both not only educational but a lot of fun to watch. The storyline is easy to follow.

The Adventures of Mouse and Mole Volume 1 is one you can sit down and watch again and again. Each time you watch this DVD  you will learn something new. There is more than one story on each DVD. This allows Charlie and I to watch just one story or the whole tape which is nice. As sometimes we are in a hurry and I know I can stop the dvd and pick up where we left off.

I also like knowing they come from a set of books as this means we can check the books out and Charlie can practice his reading. Once Charlie is done with the books we can compare the books to the DVD’s and see how they differ from each other.

Each story teaches a lesson and Volume The Adventures of Mouse and Mole Volume 1 is about friendship. Which Charlie has been struggling with some of the kids in the neighborhood not wanting to be his friend so The Adventures of Mouse and Mole Volume 1 has helped him address his feelings. The Adventures of Mouse and Mole Volume 1 showed Charlie that he isn’t the only one to have to go through this. I also let CCharlie know these things can even happen to adults.

I had Charlie sit down and draw me a picture of how he felt when his friends treat him badly and this lead to another lesson on learning which is always a plus. Especially with it being Winter Break  as Charlie is learning and will be ready once school resumes.

Adventures of Mouse & Mole

Country of Origin: United Kindom

Run Time: 50 minutes per volume

A sparkling adaptation of Joyce Dunbar’s classic books about practical Mouse and capricious Mole. Featuring two of Britain’s best loved actors, Richard Briers and Alan Bennett, as the voices of Mouse and Mole. The complete collection is in two volumes.

Charlie and I enjoyed The Adventures of Mouse and Mole: Volume 2 just as much as we did volume 1. I think both of these would make wondeful gifts for the children in your life. As well as for teachers to use in there classroom.

The illustrations in both DVD’s are so cute and they keep a child’s attention. Charlie would sit for hours and watch both DVD’s. The Adventures of Mouse and Mole: Volume 2 is also from a book that I can not wait to check out and have Charlie read it as it will help him with his reading. Plus David can also read it with him and it will help him as he struggles with reading as well.

This DVD focus on friendship as well and something Charlie needed to watch and listen to. Once, Charlie did he learned so much that if we had been homeschooling him we could have used it in writing, art and also health as it covers feelings.

All in all both DVD’s was a huge hit and if they come out with more of them I will be looking to purchase them as they teach valuable lessons and the stories are so fun to listen to. Plus the mouse is adorable.

Overview:

This collection is a sparkling adaptation of Joyce Dunbar’s classic stories about practical Mouse and capricious Mole. Mouse and Mole live together in a little cottage in the country. Mouse is practical and cheerful. Mole gets into scrapes and needs mollycoddling. Their everyday adventures appeal to adults and children alike because the charm of the stories lies in the endearing friendship of the two central characters and the humor of their exchanges.

Your children will delight in the everyday adventures of these lovable companions as they help each other to navigate through both good times and bad. Each colorfully animated story playfully explores the joys and complexities of friendship. Bursting with warm humor from start to finish, these universal and timeless stories are a treat for the whole family.

Mouse and Mole first appeared as an award-winning series on BBC Television, and like The Wind in the Willows and Winnie the Pooh, is justly recognised as a classic of our time.
