I don’t know about where you live but Back-to-school season is almost here, since school in my area begins on August 13th for my nieces and nephews and if you’re like me, you’re always looking for quick, convenient snacks that make packing lunches just a little easier. Whether you’re packing for school, work, sports practice, or a family road trip, having a few grab-and-go favorites on hand can save both time and stress.
Here are a few snacks my family has recently tried that would fit perfectly into lunch boxes and busy schedules. I know you might be asking why would my family have lunch boxes and David and Charlie use them to take there lunches into work. At times I eve pack a lunch to bring upstairs for me.
Ocean Spray Cran-Grape Juice– The 10-ounce bottles are a convenient size for lunches and on-the-go activities. I like that they provide 100% of the daily value of Vitamin C, although I also recommend enjoying them in moderation because of the added sugar.
They’re a refreshing change from plain water every once in a while and fit nicely into a lunch bag or cooler. There just the right size for kids to finish during lunch and they wouldn’t waste a bigger drink.
Pop-Tarts Frosted Strawberry Pastry Bites– These bite-sized pastries are perfect for busy mornings when you’re rushing out the door. They’re also great as an afternoon snack or a sweet little treat tucked into a lunch box. We keep them in our car for last minute snacks.
Because they’re individually packaged, there’s no measuring or portioning—just grab one and go making these the perfect snacks for busy moms on the go.
Mini Chips Ahoy! Cookies– I like purchasing the larger snack packs because I can often divide them into two or three smaller portions for our family.
They’re perfect for:
- Lunch box desserts
- After-school treats
- Movie nights
- Road trips
Portioning them ahead of time also helps stretch the package a little further.
Cheez-It Original Crackers– Cheez-Its are one of those timeless snacks that almost everyone enjoys. They pair nicely with Fruit.
The individual bags are perfect for:
- School lunches
- Work lunches
- Afternoon snacks
- Keeping in the car
- Sporting events
Plus, they’re made with 100% real cheese and contain 0 grams of sugar, making them a nice savory option when you don’t want something sweet. Being on a diet they are good for me a quick snack and also for my mother in law and father in law who are diabetics.
One thing I’ve learned is that spending just a few minutes organizing snacks each week makes busy mornings much less stressful So remember a little planning goes a long way in busy households. David and I like keeping a basket in the pantry with lunch-ready items and also upstairs in the Coffee Nook/ Snack Bar area so they’re easy to grab when packing lunches or heading out the door.
Remember, every lunch doesn’t have to be Pinterest-perfect. Sometimes the best lunch is simply one that’s packed with love and helps your family get through a busy day.
What are your family’s favorite lunch box snacks? I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments so we can all discover something new!
Grateful. Thankful. Blessed.
