I would like to share a new addition to our Christmas Gift Guide 2025: Bella and Bird Explore Anger: A Children’s Book About Managing Anger and Understanding Big Feelings While Nurturing Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Literacy by Deana Plaskin, PhD, LMHC Illustrated by Lea Marie Ravotti. Bella and Bird Explore Anger is the cutest children’s book with a little boy who you can tell is mad standing in front of the pretties white and black Horse I wish I would reach out and pet. On the Horses head is a Bird who looks like he has something to say.

The Author has written a series of children’s Book about emotions and feelings, and this book explores anger which both children and adults need help understanding at times. The little boy is mad because his mom made his favorite Pie and wouldn’t give him any.

The little boy tells Bella he yelled at his mom and she yelled back. Bella helps the little boy understand the right way to get his anger out, Bell reminds the little box he can get back on track by using box breathing and he might get his truck back his mom took away.

We learn how to become an emotion explorer which we all need to learn along with box breathing. If Charlie had been #Homschooling we could have used these tips and box breathing in our Health Class. Remember feelings come and go and you can change the way you’re feeling if you releax.

Next, we learn about cool-down counting another #teachingmoment for my family. I love how the Author teaches us about a emotion wheel which we can make to use in our home. In the story we learn why he couldn’t have the Pie, and we see he gets his truck back making my family happy.

About the book:

“Can’t you tell?” said Henry. “This is my angry face!”
When Henry storms into the pasture, Bella, the wise horse, and her wisecracking sidekick, Bird, step in to help. Together, the friends set out to explore why Henry is angry and offer better ways to cope.
By the time Henry leaves the pasture, he’s gained new insights, is in better control of his feelings, and has tools to take along with him.

The award winning first book in the Bella and Bird the Emotion Explorers series, Bella and Bird Explore Anger, helps children (and grown-ups) understand and manage their anger, making it a valuable resource for open and honest conversations about this challenging emotion.
