Breaking Their Silence

I was given the opportunity to watch the award-winning documentary feature, Breaking Their Silence, launching on June 8th on the soon-to-be-rebranded, lifelong learning streaming service, Wondrium. In exchange for this post.

Breaking Their Silence is written, directed, and produced by acclaimed filmmaker Kerry David (Bill Coors: The Will to Live, Agent Cody Banks 1+2), a author I wasn’t familiar with but after watching this film I will be looking for more films of hers to watch.

Breaking Their Silence (Bill Coors documents the scope of wildlife trafficking and poaching through the lens of the women around the world risking their lives to help end it.

As I watched this film I felt like I was there with them. I wanted to reach out and help them and to bring the Elephants home to take care of them and to keep them safe.

I never thought of teaching wildlife trafficking in Homeschooling but knowing Charlie’s love for animals as I plan out the lessons for next year I will be adding a Lesson Plan on wildlife trafficking and how Charlie can help not only the animals but the individuals.

Breaking Their Silence has been hailed by People Magazine as “Outstanding, beautifully made, powerful and heartbreaking…a breathtaking documentary.” Parade called it “beautiful and hopeful.”

At times I was on the edge of my seat and I didn’t want to be bothered until the film finished. I even found myself holding my breath and a tear or two slipping out a time or two.
