Brick Road Theatre’s production of the beloved musical Mamma Mia!

Inside is a review for Brick Road Theatre’s production of the beloved musical Mamma Mia! The theater is in Plano, Texas. I was given three tickets to Mamma Mia! Inside this post you will see photos, and I would like to give Photo credit: to Jason Anderson, Pendleton Photography

Before I share my thoughts on Mamma Mia! with you I would like to mention if you haven’t been to Plano that you should take the time to visit. We drove through Plano and the stores were so cute. I found quite a few unique shops and restaurants that I can’t wait to return to shop from during the Holidays.

Before I get to Mamma Mia!  I would like to let you know there is a Art Show inside Brick Road Theatre featuring Art which Charlie and I had the opportunity to look through before going into the Auditorium. For a Homeschooling Family this was a wonderful treat as we were able to get in an impromptu Art lesson.

We walked into Brick Road Theatre Lobby there were chairs and tables. Charlie and I sat down to discuss the elements in the play I wanted Charlie to look for. Including words Charlie would be asked in class. As we did this Charlie looked up the music group Abba. Charlie was able to come up with his own assignment for Music.

David, Charlie and I walked into Brick Road Theatre and my family loved how cozy Brick Road Theatre was. Charlie, David and I liked seeing that no matter where we would have picked to sit that we could see the Stage perfectly. The next time we come out to the Brick Road Theatre Charlie, and I plan on sitting in the Balcony.

Children have funny dreams. One of Charlie’s dreams is to sit in a Balcony at an event we attend. Charlie hasn’t ever been able to do. Although with my knee I am sure I would sit downstairs and let Charlie go up to the Balcony by himself because Charlie is 10 now. I felt comfortable enough in Brick Road Theatre for Charlie to go places by himself.

Mamma Mia! began Charlie amazed me because Charlie was so quit during Mamma Mia! The only time Charlie moved was during the break when we went to the restroom. As we were walking Charlie asked me if we would be able to get both Mamma Mia! movies as he wanted to see what all happened in the move he may have missed in the play.

This alone amazed me because I had asked to see Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again at the movies and Charlie said no, it was a GIRL’S MOVIE… After last night neither Charlie or David felt that way. David like Charlie can’t wait to watch Mamma Mia! movies with me. Even though I have the original Mamma Mia! I know plan on purchasing Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again for them for Christmas.

As we watched the play I feel in love with the entire cast. Everyone is so talented, and they made us feel like we were in Greece on that Island with them. Donna could have done both movies perfectly. Charlie and I discussed the dads on the way home and the neat part was all three of us had a favorite dad and each of us picked a different dad. Leading to another Homeschool Lesson. Charlie also talked to me about the dancing which we will be practicing this week in our PE Class.

For me personally I laughed, I cried, and I felt like I had an Angel sitting on my shoulder. I could see my daughter Suzzane watching                         Mamma Mia! with me from Heaven. Because like me Suzzie loved movies and plays full of music and dancing. I asked David if Mama Mia reminded him of other plays. David surprised me when he said Dirty Dancing. For me parts of Mamma Mia! reminded me of Grease. Once I mentioned that to David, he agreed with me.

I can tell you that you might want to bring tissues with you if you’re a parent because there is one part that had me bawling but it was because my daughter has passed away. Although the scene I am thinking about might not be the same for you because your children may be here.

All in all as soon as we left Brick Road Theatre I asked David to get me tickets for the next night as I wanted to go back and rewatch Mamma Mia! but David didn’t. If you love me and want to know what I would like for my Birthday which is in a couple weeks, it would be tickets to see               Mamma Mia! Or the next play Brick Road Theatre is putting on.
