Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Hurst, Texas

Yesterday evening Charlie, Sherry and I had dinner reservations at Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Hurst, Texas. The day progressed Sherry texted me to make sure she was going with me, and David Jr. hadn’t changed his mind as he was off even though he was supposed to have worked

I reassured Sherry she was going with me as David wasn’t sure he would have liked the food they served as he doesn’t much care for Italian dinners. David can’t eat Onions and was afraid the food would have them in it. Which was his loss and when I say damage, I mean loss as our dinner was fantastic?

Around 3:30 Sherry texted me again to let me know she was ready.  I knew by her texting me that early that she was excited to be able to attend dinner with Charlie and I. I am so glad Charlie and I asked Sherry to go with us, as this allowed us to celebrate her Birthday with her as she turned 70 on Saturday.

Once we left home to head to Carrabba’s Italian Grill, I had an idea where located. Sherry wasn’t so once we got close to where I thought Carrabba’s Italian Restaurant should be, Sherry started to turn. I asked her to go into                            North East Malls parking lot, as I thought Carrabba’s Italian Grill would be in the parking lot and I was correct about where it was. Once we were close Charlie helped us find a Handy-Cap parking space as Sherry has had surgery on her knees and has trouble walking a long way. We were able to park right outside the door and only had to walk about 30 feet which were a huge plus. I know if my dad comes back and visits that he would be able to go over there and eat with us as well.

We parked and went inside Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and it wasn’t long until the hostess walked up and asked if we needed help. I let her know I was there to see a manager and gave them the managers name I was to see. Only to find out last night was there night off. Let me tell you I started to sweat and thought we might not be able to have dinner. The manager on duty walked up, and as soon as I let her know who I was and why I was there, she got us a table.

I would like to tell you from the time we walked in until the time we left I was blown away by the service we received. I fell in love with our waiter, and if we return for dinner, I will make sure and ask for him. Both Sherry and Charlie can’t wait to return to Carrabba’s Italian Grill as well, and they also would like the same waiter.

Once seated were shown the wine menu we both declined an Alcoholic Beverage and ordered Tea along with Charlies DR. Pepper. The waiter was kind enough to go through the menu with us section by section. Which I really liked as most restaurants we go to we do not get that type of service. We were able to get to know our waiter a little bit better as he even shared his favorites with us.

He went and got us some warm bread while we looked over the menu. Charlie picked out what he wanted so fast it made Sherry and I gasp. Especially when Charlie asked for Chicken Strips and even agreed on the Broccoli it came with. I forgot to ask for Ranch when Charlies food was brought out but he was fine with the ketchup.

Once Charlie was settled and I had decided on Lasagna Sherry let me know she wanted a Chicken Dish but couldn’t decide on which Chicken dish she wanted as she wasn’t sure what all they were. Our waiter was kind enough to go back through the menu with us again. Our waiter mentioned his favorite Chicken Dish.

Sherry decided to order the Chicken Marsala which was Wood-grilled and topped with mushrooms and our Lombardo Marsala Wine Sauce as it was our waiters favorite Chicken Dish. Sherry isn’t supposed to have Alcohol because of the medicine she takes and also because she is a Diabetic. I asked if Sherry would be ok with the Chicken Marsala and Sherry said as long as it was cooked in a Wine Sauce, she would be fine. Once the Chicken Marsala and her Broccoli arrived, she tried them both and let me know they were perfect. Once she finished her dinner, she let me know she would like to bring my father-in-law out to Carrabba’s Italian Grills as she is sure he would enjoy it just as much as she did.

Since all three of us wanted to get a Dessert with Charlie to celebrate both mine and Sherry’s Birthday, we only ate half of our dinner and brought the rest home. Sherry gave me the Chicken Marsala for David Jr. to try and he liked it a lot. David even asked if we can go back to Carrabba’s Italian Grill so he can order it for himself. Although David says, he might just order Pizza as he loves trying out new and different Pizza’s.

Before our main dishes came out Sherry and I brought our Salads and I picked the Caesar Side Salad Romaine hearts, croutons, parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing it was so good that I could have made a meal out of the salad alone. As for the dressing I was worried I wouldn’t care for it, but it was perfect, and I can’t wait to go back and order another Salad.

Sherry was brought the Italian Side Salad Fresh Romaine hearts and mixed greens with carrots, grape tomatoes, red onions, and kalamata olives served with a side of our vinaigrette dressing. I was afraid Sherry wouldn’t care for this salad but she says she liked it a lot and can’t wait to return with David Sr. for him to try out the Italian Side Salad .

We enjoyed our Salads and Main Courses, and we was able to enjoy the Bread they bring out to the table and a dipping sauce. Which both Sherry and I enjoyed a lot, and our waiter was kind enough to bring us some dipping sauce to bring home with us. Along with our bread, we had left over. Can you guess what I had for lunch today?

Once Charlie finished his meal, we all looked at the Dessert Menu and chose our waiters favorite dessert the                   Sogno DI Cioccolata “Chocolate Dream,” A rich fudge brownie with chocolate mousse, fresh whipped cream, and chocolate sauce and let me tell you it was a true dream. Charlie ordered one of his own and Sherry ordered her own.  I ate a little bit of Charlies and Sherry couldn’t finish hers so Charlie finished both his dessert and Sherry’s.

As you can see our visit to Carrabba’s Italian Grill was a huge success and I am so glad I signed up for the Dine Rewards so we can go back and have dinner and save on our upcoming visits. We will be able to purchase Gift Cards to give to those on our Gift Giving list. Including Davids mom and dad now that we know Sherry liked it and wanted to bring David back.

I have a question for you have you eaten at Carrabba’s Italian Grill and if so, what did you think about it and what was your favorite dish and why?
