First Snow Published By Nancy Viau

This is a review for the children’s book First Snow written by Talitha Shipman I received a copy of in exchange for this review.

Nancy Viau is the Author First Snow Nancy Viau. I would like to let you know this is a artist I hadn’t had the opportunity to read books from until First Snow arrived.  David and I were going through the house and putting Christmas Gifts into totes.

While walking through our home I noticed David looking for Gifts for Elijah. I went to move the stack of books I had sat aside to read to the children during Christmas. David say the children’s book First Snow. David asked me if he could have this book for Elijah.

Or if I had planned on giving First Snow my nephew Jason and my niece Lily. I let David know the novel wasn’t for any of those children. I wanted to keep First Snow for Charlie and I to read during the Holidays. As well as sharing with the kids if they come and visit. I could tell David was disappointed I wasn’t giving  First Snow to Elijah.

One day Charlie will have children of his own and I like to keep the children’s books I receive for Charlie’s children. Especially after Charlie and I read First Snow  Charlie wanted to use this new novel in our classroom.

I did let David take First Snow down to his mother Sherry’s to show Les and Granny Sherry to see what they thought of First Snow. Leslie thought David was going to give the book to Elijah and was disappointed when David let Les know this book was mine and Charlie’s. Not his to give to someone.

They became upset with Charlie when he went to get our copy of First Snow to bring home. Seeing how Les felt about First Snow Charlie and I will purchase a copy for all the children on our Gift Giving List. Including the children Charlie adopts at Christmas from the Salvation Army Angel Tree.

Once we returned home David and I sat down with Charlie who read First Snow to us .Charlie didn’t stumble at all. I was so proud of Charlie. We discussed the story line and we went over what we loved about the novel.

Charlie even wanted to read First Snow again. Once Charlie finished Charlie and David made up stories of what might happen later on in the storu. Later that evening Charlie started to draw pictures from                First Snow to hang up in his room.

Charlie was so nice he even made his grandmother and I the Snowman from First Snow. I just wish we had Snow outside so we could’ve played in the snow like they did in the novel. Charlie asked me if I thought Santa would bring him snow and also a dog like the one in First Snow. I let Charlie know I wasn’t sure so we should mail our letters off to Santa ASAP.

Snowflakes falling! What a treat! Friends gather outside to celebrate the first snowfall of the season with snowball fights, sledding, building igloos, drinking hot chocolate, and making the most of a windy, wintry day. With rhyming text and cheerful illustrations, this is a charming celebration of the winter season.
