Eating Across America Published by Daymon “DAYM DROPS” Patterson

My family has always obsessed with Food Trucks, or at least I like to think Charlie and David are so we can visit different areas in our Hometown and try out Food Trucks in our area. As soon as I saw this new cookbook featuring Food Trucks, I knew it would be a novel I would enjoy reading and I thought my mother in law Sherry might as well.

Without further ado let me introduce you to Eating Across America A Foodie’s Guide to Food Trucks, Street Food and the Best Dish in Each State. Charlie and I we will be using Eating Across America in our Homeschooling classroom during our cooking class and also our reading class. Along with Art because Charlie can practice drawing the food we make or creating crafts to decorate our table when we sit down to eat dinner.

One feature I liked about Eating Across America  is knowing this book will allow Charlie and I to learn about different States we might not have heard of before. As well as showing us the types of food they eat. Another feature of Eating Across America,I enjoyed is inside the book it shows us Reviews and YouTube videos. I have been working on growing my YouTube channel and be checking out this section of Eating Across America I will be able to do that.

David liked the section titled Cheap Eats and with a family of 3 eating out can become pretty expensive if tEating Across America can offer my family tips, you can bet I will be using them as well as sharing the tips with my friends and family. Sherry took a look at my Eating Across America, and she liked the section titled Hole In The Wall restaurants because a lot of time they have the best food around.

I loved being able to look up Oklahoma where my father lives and finding out they shared Fried Okra my favorite vegetable and something David enjoys as well. The only thing that surprised me was it was Oklahoma’s choice, not Texas because everyone in Texas loves Fried Okra and eats it a lot of times and this is one vegetable that is served at most restaurants we go out to have lunch or dinner at if they serve Bar B Que or Home style cooking.

As I ventured on through the book looking at pictures, I was excited to know I was getting close to Texas. I thought they would choose either Tex Mex or Bar B Que and I couldn’t wait to check out the feature on Texas to see if I was right. In a way I was as they picked Brisket and which is Bar B Que, and like other Texans even though I like Ribs I prefer Brisket but David and Charlie are different, and they prefer Ribs.

I love that in the back of Eating Across America is a note from the Authors mom because all boys love their moms and wouldn’t be anything without them. Her letter gave us an insight into her son and the gentleman she described is someone I would like to meet and someone I would like to call my friend. I think you would as well if you took a look at the letter.
