Spring Break will be ending for my niece and nephew this week and it may be for your children as well.
I thought I would share Family Fun Friday: Simple Ways to Make Memories This Weekend on a budget that children of all ages can do with and without their parents help. Getting them off #electronics for a bit.
Fridays are for fun, laughter, and reconnecting after a long week. As the weather warms up and spring begins to bloom, it’s the perfect time to slow down and enjoy simple moments with the people you love. This week’s Family Fun Friday is all about easy, joyful activities that bring everyone together without stress or big budgets.
Here are a few ideas to kick off your weekend:
🌼 Backyard Scavenger Hunt– Create a list of spring items — flowers, leaves, bugs, shapes — and let the kids explore. Add a timer for extra excitement or let them take photos of what they find. Even though I stressed #noscreentime for this activity its okay to be on electronics to take photos.
🎲 Board Game Night– Choose a family favorite or try something new. Let each family member pick a game and rotate through them for a full evening of fun. If we were playing #Boardgames in my home, I would pick Sorry. Charlie said he would like to play Clue. What about you?
🍕 Make‑Your‑Own Pizza Night– Set out toppings and let everyone build their own. Kids love the creativity, and parents love the easy cleanup. If you’re not sure how to get started, I’ve included a recipe for Biscuit Pizza’s, you can make.
🎨 Spring Craft Time– Try a Pizza Night at home and make Grands!™ Pepperoni Pizza, painted rocks, or a simple paper flower bouquet. Or you could do a #Butterfly craft. These make great keepsakes and brighten up your home for spring.
Family time doesn’t have to be complicated. A little creativity and togetherness go a long way — and the memories last far longer than the activity itself.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
