I thought I would share another Homeschool Field Trips in or around DFW: The Dr. Pepper Museum. I’ve actually been here before and was able to bring some of the Soda’s home. But the one time I took Charlie and David they were closed. I would like to bring them back. Would you like to come with me?
The Dr Pepper Museum & Free Enterprise Institute opened to the public in May 1991 and has hosted over 1,700,000 visitors. It is located in Waco, Texas and is the home of the Nation’s oldest major soft drink.
The Museum is housed in the 1906 Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company building located in downtown Waco. The 100 year-old building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as the “Home of Dr Pepper.” The Museum receives the support of Keurig Dr Pepper and its affiliated bottlers but is not owned or operated by them.
Located at the corner of Fifth Street and Mary Avenue in the turn of the century manufacturing district, the vacant bottling plant was in a sad state of repair in a neighborhood comprised mostly of abandoned warehouses that was officially declared as “blighted” by the City. The Waco Chamber of Commerce and the City of Waco hoped that the Museum would be a catalyst for renewed energy and growth in the area, with the potential for restaurants and shops in the old warehouses down the street similar to the “West End” district in Dallas

Join us for an exclusive Paranormal Experience at the Dr Pepper Museum. During this two-hour tour you will get to see a different side of the Museum, one that most guests will never experience. For decades, paranormal investigators and Museum staff have experienced paranormal activity at the Museum such as floating orbs, shadow figures, voices, apparitions, and overwhelming emotions. On this tour, our expert Museum guides will lead you through both historic buildings, including our otherwise off-limits basement, to hear about the Museum’s history and investigate its paranormal activity for yourself with investigative tools such as EMF readers.Because of the unique nature of this tour, guests need to be aware of some safety measures prior to booking their tour:
Guests must be 18 years or older to participate
Guests must wear closed-toe shoes
Guests must sign a waiver indicating that they understand the various hazards that come with a dimly lit tour of an old building
