Homeschool Resources DOGObooks Summer Reading Club

With Charlie having his Blog and also helping me on mine when I can get him to sit down and do it. I thought signing him up for a Reading Club would allow Charlie to check out and review new books which would help Charlie improve his reading. I would like to share a new reading club I found which makes the perfect Homeschool Resources DOGObooks Summer Reading Club.
By joining this site, our children have new books to read and review and will be able to check out other children’s thoughts on the books they want to read. While earning prizes based on the number of books they read. I can’t wait to sit down and show this new website to Charlie and get him signed up for the site.
It’s Wednesday, May 16, 2018, and time for us to share a new Language Arts Homeschool Resource!

DOGObooks is offering an online Summer Reading Club program that rewards kids for reading.
The contest began April 22 and will continue through August 31, 2018. With the help of their affiliate partners, they have assembled a list of 50 favorite books for kids to read and review this summer. For every three books read and reviewed by your child, they will get to select a FREE new novel from the prize catalog. There are 1,500 books in the prize catalog this year.

DOGObooks describe themselves as an online place where kids discover, review and rate books. Their goal is to provide a fun, safe and interactive environment for children to share their reactions, thoughts, and opinions about books. All book reviews are moderated and approved by DOGObooks before being published.

When you get to the website, you’ll see the list of sponsors and below that find the directions to sign up. Parents are asked to fill out and mail a hard copy of the consent form. The consent form is straightforward: it asks that you agree to allow your child to participate in the Books Giveaway/Contest and receive prizes. You and your child are then directed to select books from the reading list. Each book listed indicates the reading level. Once your child has read and written an online review of the three books, a prize selected from a list of books.

Locate the “freebies” button on the top navigation bar. Here you’ll find limited-time offer freebies that your children can win in addition to the contest. You’ll want to check here often because new games added all the time. One example is: Enter to win a free copy of National Geographic Kids Almanac 2019 by National Geographic Kids.

DOGObooks’ motto is “Books Reviewed by Kids for Kids.” Each review is required to have a word count of at least 25 words. DOGObooks will moderate and approve all posts before posting them. We found it interesting seeing which books have reviewed the most so far. Reading reviews written directly by the children who learn those offers some insight that may be missed by an adult.

Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie, and David Cates
