Charlie is one funny child as he has certain places he will eat at and others he refuses to go into. When we find a restaurant Charlie enjoys we try and visit it every couple months. Which is what happened with Hwy 55 as they was in Colleyville, Texas right down the street from the Rec. Center we go and work out at. Then we stopped going for a while and David asked Charlie if he would like to go out and eat and he could pick where. I would like to let you know at HWY 55 you will find Burgers, Shakes and Fries as well as great music. Along with a wonderful and caring staff.
Charlie asked us to take him to Hwy 55 so we drove out to where we knew it was and once we got there it had moved and we didn’t know where.One day I asked David if he would take me to Half Price Books in Hurst and why we were in the store I goggled Hwy 55 and found out it was right down the street from where we was. As we was leaving David asked if I wanted to get something to eat and I let him know I would like to.
We got into the car and I didn’t tell Charlie or David where we was going. I just asked David to follow the directions I was going to give him as I had a surprise for them. David began driving and both Charlie and David tried to figure out where we was going and neither of them could. I could tell they was getting flustered not knowing where we was going. When I saw the Shopping Center I was looking for and asked David to turn in.
David saw Hwy 55 before Charlie did as he was laying down in the back seat. I motioned for David to be quit. David pulled up in front of Hwy 55 and we told Charlie we was here and to get out so we could eat. Charlie let us know he was going to wait in the car because it wouldn’t be anywhere he would like. I said okay if you need us we will be inside Hwy 55 having dinner.
The next thing I know Charlie has opened the car door and gotten out and is standing in the parking lot doing a dance and yelling hurry up I am starving. I need a Kids Meal Hot Dog in the cool car they give me and and and. As soon as I heard that I knew we had made the correct choice on dinner and I couldn’t wait to get inside so Charlie could order his Hot Dog and I could look at the menu to pick out my dinner.
If you love the 50’s Hamburgers, Shakes and good music then the special above is the perfect meal choice for you. I love the Soda’s as Hwy 55 offers us Crushed Ice my all time favorite. Although the Shakes are so good and so is the Ice Cream they have and don’t forget to check out the Desserts Charlie says. Although if your like David you might want to try the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich and for me it is the Hamburger Steak Platter which is so yummy.

We have a Highway 55 in Bedford, right next to the big Kroger’s on Harwood. One day I decided to get out of the house and just found my way there for a quick bite. I enjoyed their cheesesteak and fries a lot, and the server was really sweet. (Good service is really nice, you know? It’s kind of rare.) It was fun to read about your experience with your family!
