Marshall’s B-Que Farmers Branch

Charlie David and I were in Farmers Branch the other day when we decided we wanted to grab lunch. With none of us having visited Farmers Branch before we didn’t know where to look for a restaurant at or how to find a Sit Down Restaurant which is what I asked for as I didn’t want Fast Food again.

As we were driving we pulled into a Shopping Center that had two restaurants the second one was Marshall’s Bar-B-Que  David and I knew Charlie would eat Ribs. We asked Charlie if he would like to eat at  Marshall’s Bar-B-Que and Charlie said that would be fine as he was hungry and thirsty. As we walked inside I enjoyed looking at the decorations.

On the wall was a Poster to the Music Man which my family would be seeing in a couple weeks. Once I saw this Poster I felt comfortable and like God had lead us to Marshall’s Bar-B-Que . I walked up to the Menu and the cook and Line Server asked if they could help us. I let them know it was our first time to eat here.

The Line Cook began to tell me about Marshall’s Bar-B-Que and how the food is prepared Fresh Daily and that they change out the sides each day. Charlie and I found several vegetables we wouldn’t mind trying out. The only thing missing Charlie said was they didn’t have Mac and Cheese as they didn’t make it that day.

Even though we picked Marshall’s Bar-B-Que I thought it would be a sit down restaurant it wasn’t. You went through a line and picked out what you would like to eat. You filled your own glasses as well. With it reminding me of my favorite Bar–Que Restaurant from when I was a child I would come back. David asked me if I wanted to stay or leave since they didn’t wait on us.  Charlie and I said we would stay and I am so happy we did as we wasn’t disappointed the food was yummy.

Charlie ordered a child’s plate with Sides and Mashed Potatoes. Charlie enjoyed the Mashed Potatoes and he was happy to find out they didn’t have Skins on them which he hates. A ear of Corn which wasn’t dry and had just the right amount of seasoning on the Corn. Sausage Charlie enjoyed a lot and  wasn’t hot. There was enough Sausage that Charlie was able to fill up without causing Charlie to be overly full. I was able to try a piece of Charlie’s Sausage and I enjoyed the taste and that it wasn’t greasy and the Sausage didn’t bother my stomach.

I surprised both David and Charlie when I ordered Ribs as I usually order Brisket although when I saw the Ribs and they way the cook described the Ribs  could taste them and knew they would be something I had to try out. I must tell you I wasn’t disappointed and I can’t wait to return for more Ribs. Although I am telling you I must try the Brisket at well. Along with the Chopped Bar-B-Que.

Being a Potato Salad Lover I decided to try it with a Ear of Corn. I was surprised at the size of Corn I was given as I am used to Mini Ears. But I ate the whole ear of Corn and wanted more when I finished. I didn’t even save the Corn for Charlie which I do a lot of the time. Then I tried the Potato Salad which had a nice taste and is something I would eat in the future.

Although there are a lot of other Vegetables and Sandwiches I would like to try if we return to here in the Future. It’s a long drive from Haltom City to here. Since they have 2 restaurants I think they should venture into one more as there is plenty of little towns between Frisco and Haltom City they could set up at that my family could get to.

Why can’t we have a restaurant like this in Haltom City???

THE MARSHALL FAMILY

In 1965 Texas Bar-B-Q was about to make history in Dallas, thanks to Charles Marshall. Charles opened his first Marshall’s Bar-B-Q in downtown Dallas, which became quite a mark in the restaurant industry. He and his wife Deloris had their hands full with a booming restaurant. Lines out the door became common place to taste his mouth watering slow smoked brisket and homemade sides. Charles used only the best ingredients. His recipes and attention to detail have been passed along to the next generation of Marshalls and wouldn’t you know, even after almost 50 years, lines out the door are still commonplace.

Marshall’s Bar-B-Q has two restaurant locations in the Carrollton and the Farmers Branch area. Easy to find and super convenient. The Carrollton location has a drive through to help you feed your crowd fast.

We are dedicated to preserving a fantastic Bar-B-Q tradition. Our food is a piece of Texas that we would like to preserve for the upcoming generations.

The family owned restaurant is still operated with the same care and ideals that Charles set forth more than 45 years ago. We started out as a simple BBQ Sandwich shop with just a few tables. News about the quality of our great food spread quickly, and we soon had to expand into a larger location.
