Palace Arts Theater in Grapevine, Texas

This past weekend Charlie and I visited the Christmas Capital in Grapevine, Texas to attend a feature of Charlie Brown Christmas as well as How The Grinch Stole Christmas. How The Grinch Stole Chrismas is David’s favorite movie, but unfortunately, due to his work schedule, David wasn’t able to join us this time? So I will be watching next year when they start promoting there Christmas events so I can purchase tickets for us.

Both Charlie and I were surprised at how quickly the Theater filled up from the bottom floor to the Balcony. If you plan on checking out the Christmas Movies, you might want to purchase your tickets ahead of time, and they don’t keep very many at the Ticket Boot for sale. In fact, I didn’t see an empty seat other than the one I was holding for David encase he made it.

With this being Charlie’s first time at the Palace Theater we had wanted to sit upstairs in the balcony. Which was something Charlie hadn’t ever done but we sat downstairs in the last row, and I was worried we wouldn’t be able to see the shows, but we were able to look at both movies? Plus, Charlie was able to get out the door to take a restroom break without bothering anyone else.

Charlie and I can’t wait to come back and watch some of the older films they show throughout the year. As being at the Palace, Arts Theater is the perfect family excursion and lets you make new memories with those you love. Charlie and I learned the theater is a Historic monument and he can share the information with his teacher next year.

I was amazed to learn both movies were over 50 years old as this means that David and I are older than them and have been watching them ort entire lives just as Charlie has. I did ask Charlie which movie he liked the best and like me, he chose Charlie Brown. Which is also my favorite of the two we saw.

I loved the smell of Fresh Popped Popcorn when we entered the Theater, and Charlie was able to go up to the concession stand on his own and I didn’t have to worry about him getting lost. I was afraid the prices of the snacks would be high only they weren’t, and they were priced low enough that I was able to get both Charlie and I our Snacks.

I loved being able to walk through Grapevine and see all the restaurants as Charlie, and I made plans on which one to attend next year when we come out to watch the Christmas Movies. As well as which one to visit when we come back out to watch the Christmas Parade they put on.

My family and I have been discussing where we would like to spend Christmas next year and have decided to come back to Grapevine. When we return one of the things we plan on doing is returning to the Palace Theater to watch the Christmas Movies, then take a ride on the Polar Express. Taking David on a Wine Tour and to the Dinner Theater.

My family has been discussing returning for Summer Vacation in Grapevine by doing a Staycation where we visit things during the day and back to our home in the evenings to check on our pets. Although if things work out the way, I am praying for 2018 I hope to be able to book a hotel for the weekend as it will be the first time my family has stayed in one since Charlie was 5 and this is something he asks to do every Summer.
