Prohibition Chicken

I’m always looking for new places for us to have Dinner at once a week. David and I saw Prohibition Chicken in Lewisville, Texas on Facebook. I let David know I would like to try Prohibition Chicken.

David said he would to because he likes Fried Chicken. I checked out the menu to make sure Prohibition Chicken would have something Charlie and I would eat.

All Charlie likes is Chicken Strips not Nuggets and Mac and Cheese. For me I like to have a Salad or a variety of vegetables to choose from. When I found out Prohibition Chicken had both and that we could get refills on the vegetables I knew I wanted to go to Prohibition Chicken.

We arrived and were seated, I was amazed at the size of the bar but that didn’t distract from the restaurant. There were a lot of families and even people by themselves having lunch.

Charlie let me know he needed to go to the Restroom. I could watch the door from were I was sitting so I wasn’t scared to let Charlie go by himself. Charlie asked to walk around and look at the decorations. Charlie liked the old time telephone booth. David and I did as well.

Our waitress arrived and went over the Menu with us. David ordered a Beer. David was able to pick a Beer he hadn’t had before. I ordered Sweet Tea which was perfect.

We chose what we wanted to eat and the waitress took our order. Our food was ready in not time. I learned that we wouldn’t need to order to 5 piece meals because the Chicken we ordered was more than David and I would eat.

Next time we will share the Chicken and Biscuits and then each of us will chose a vegetable. Unless we plan on taking our leftovers for lunch. Charlie even had Crispy Chicken Tenders and Sea Salt Kennebec Fries.

I tried the Sea Salt Kennebec Fries David ordered and I like that Sea Salt Kennebec Fries were Homemade and had a nice seasoning. Sea Salt Kennebec Fries weren’t greasy, and one order would have feed all of us.

I ordered Smashed Potatoes and Cream. Smashed Potatoes and Cream were real Potato’s as well. Smashed Potatoes and Cream were so Creamy. The seasonings weren’t overpowering. I can’t wait to order more of the Smashed Potatoes and Cream. When we return, I may just order the Smashed Potatoes and Cream and forget about the Chicken.

We chose the Crispy Fried Prohibition, double dipped Chicken which was crispy and cooked all the way through. The seasoning on the Crispy Fried Prohibition wasn’t overpowering. I liked the variety of pieces of Chicken they brought us. Crispy Fried Prohibition was perfect for lunch the next day.

Crispy Fried Prohibition comes with a varsity of Sauces to dip our Chicken in. We chose Apple Moonshine Prohibition BBQ and Deep South White BBQ Sauce.

David enjoyed both of the Sauces and Charlie tried them as well and let us know he liked them a lot. I did try both, but I am not much for Sauces so even though they were good I didn’t eat them.

Although if they had plain Gravy instead of Roasted Jalapeno Sawmill Gravy, I would have chosen it because Gravy would have been good on the Biscuits and also our French Fries and Smashed Potatoes. But with it being Roasted Jalapeno Sawmill Gravy I couldn’t eat it.

David let me know if we don’t share the next time, we go he would like to try Nashville Hot Chicken or Crispy Chicken Tenders Apple Moonshine BBQ with Charlie.

The only thing I didn’t like about Prohibition Chicken where the prices were a tad bit higher than I like to pay. Although if you share with someone the prices wouldn’t be bad. Or if you take the leftovers home then you would have lunched the next day cutting the price into two dinners.

For Thanksgiving this year, I think I will order dinner from Prohibition Chicken because I wouldn’t have to cook dinner. I could relax and enjoy my family.

If you have been to Prohibition Chicken what did you think of the food and why? Did you like the decorations? How about the Bar and the variety of drinks Prohibition Chicken carries?
