Robinson Crusoe – by Daniel Defoe

This is a review for the book Robinson Crusoe – by Daniel Defoe which I received in exchange for this review.

I remember being a child and hearing of Robinson Crusoe. My brother along with boys in the neighborhood wanted to be just like Robinson Crusoe. Time moved on. I forgot about Robinson Crusoe. Until I begin Homeschooling Charlie full time.

Trying to find books that would capture Charlies attention for him to sit down and read has been hard. Not since I introduced Charlie to Robinson Crusoe. Which is why I’m excited for Christmas to arrive. I will be able to give Charlie this hardback copy of Robinson Crusoe – by Daniel Defoe.

I know when Charlie begins to read Robinson Crusoe and David hears how excited Charlie gets. David will want to sit down hear the story of Robinson Crusoe. I say this because at night when Charlie and David have been sleeping I’ve been Robinson Crusoe. Let me tell you once I begin this story I didn’t want to put the book down.

After learning about the adventures he went on I wish I had been able to take Charlie to some of the. Robinson Crusoe went on during his lifetime. I would like to take David as well. I would like to share my favorite part of the book with you. Which was when he was living on the Sea. I wouldn’t mind living on the Sea if I had a Houseboat. How about you?

Through Robinson Crusoe Charlie will learn that no, matter how bad things may be through perseverance we can get through and survive. Things will get better as long as we don’t give up. In the book it touches on the death of a mentor. Charlie will be able to see others have survived loss just as we can and will.

The perfect gift for a young adventurer. Share your beloved childhood stories with the next generation!

Young and impulsive, Robinson Crusoe defies the advice of his parents and runs away to sea. He is plagued by misfortune at every turn; his first ship sinks in a violent storm, his friend and mentor dies, then he is captured by pirates and made a slave in the port of Sallee.

Through all these hardships, Crusoe’s determination and resourcefulness fills him with hope for a better life, and fate delivers him the opportunity for freedom, friendship and riches. But it is when he is shipwrecked on a deserted island that he faces his greatest test: not simply to survive but to thrive. A full-colour illustrated edition of one of the world’s best loved stories.
