ROOM BY ROOM, GRACE BY GRACE

Home Decor Home Organization

When we was in the Mobile Home we had so much space that everything had a place and nothing was stacked on top of each other. Here in the Town Home its so full of stuff that its hard to move around. With Charlie making new friends I know he is going to want to invite them over. Which is why I wanted to start this home makeover.

I wanted to let you know that it’s funny how life changes when you finally stop and look around your home. Even though I’m so grateful, thankful, and blessed that after moving from our mobile home, we were able to find this Townhome in an area that truly fits my family. It’s not just the layout—it’s the little things too, like having multiple outdoor spaces that make it feel so much bigger than it actually is.

But real life also means this home is shared by four adults and two dogs, and that’s when things start to feel a little more full than planned. Not in a bad way—just in a lived-in way. The kind where you turn around and suddenly there’s something sitting where it didn’t used to be.

And I’ll be honest, I know someone looking in might think it looks like a cluttered home… maybe even a hoarder home if they didn’t understand it. But I understand it. This is my home. This is the home the Lord blessed us with. And I’m grateful thankful and blessed for every inch of it.

Now that doesn’t mean I don’t see what needs to change. I do. I see the hallway upstairs where everything seems to collect. I see the snack basket, the coffee nook I’ve been trying to build, the review items waiting to be gone through, and the spaces that started with good intentions but slowly turned into “set it here for now” spots.

And I know something important. I can fix this. Not all at once. Not in a stressful, overwhelming way. But slowly… room by room, corner by corner. That’s why I’m starting this journey right here. Even if I have to do it all by myself I am taking my home back.

Because if I can take this hallway and get it back under control, it’s going to help more than just the space. It’s going to help me move more during the day, get my steps in, drink more water because I can carry it with me, and feel like I’m actually making progress instead of standing still.

And most importantly, it’s going to help my family. So Charlie doesn’t feel embarrassed when friends come over. So David and I can breathe a little easier in our own space. So this home feels peaceful again instead of overwhelming. Forst and foremost this is not about perfection.

It’s about progress. It’s about gratitude. It’s about taking care of what we’ve been given. So I’m inviting you to come along with me. Because over the next few months, I’m going to take this home and work through it slowly—room by room, grace by grace.

And we’re starting upstairs in the hallway. One corner at a time. One day at a time. And I truly believe by the time we reach the end of this journey, this home is going to feel lighter, calmer, and even more like the blessing it already is. While creating more room for the guests we want to invite over.

This home is not perfect, but it is mine, and it is a blessing.

I choose peace over perfection.

I will take this journey one corner at a time, trusting the process and the season I am in.
