Series: Things We Actually Use: Not Just Adaptive Pants… A Whole-Family “Why Didn’t We Have These Sooner?” Gift Idea

The Mommies Reviews

My family received zipOns Adult Lightweight Adaptive Pants – Black with Black Zipper size 30/ 30 for this review.

I wanted to share a new Series: Things We Actually Use: befree adaptive pants I got for Charlie which is Not Just Adaptive Pants… but A Whole-Family “Why Didn’t We Have These Sooner?” Gift Idea that Charlie and David like to argue over.

I didn’t expect zip-up pants to turn into a family debate, but here we are. The BeFree zipOns Adult Lightweight Adaptive Pants were originally picked out for comfort and ease—something practical for dressing or just making daily life easier when Charlie is rushing out of the house to play basketball.

What I didn’t expect was how quickly these adaptive pants turned into something everyone in the house wanted to try on. With Mother’s Day and Father’s Day right around the corner gifts usually lean toward candles, mugs, or another shirt that gets folded and never worn.

But these adaptive pants from befree feel different. They’re one of those rare gifts that are actually useful in everyday life—and somehow end up being shared across the whole family. David is the best example of that.

David saw Charlie’s pair and immediately started with I’m “just trying them on for a minute.” Which was funny since they cannot fit into the same size pants. That turned into David saying they’d be perfect for yard work in the summer. And honestly… he’s not wrong.

When it hits 100° in Fort Worth, Texas, jeans turn into a personal challenge. These are lightweight, breathable, and way easier to move in when you’re mowing, trimming, or just trying to survive the heat without overheating. Light bulb moment perfect Father’s Day Gift without breaking the budget.

David even joked that he could be “cooler than his jeans ever allowed him to be.” And then came the pool moment. Which as a mom wasn’t something I was expecting but with men ie teens you never know what is going to happen or whem.

That is why at Lisa’s, when there are adaptive pants on that turn into shorts, the idea is simple: jump in the pool without overthinking it. And that’s exactly what makes these feel so practical—they move from “everyday wear” to “life just happened and I’m still comfortable” without needing a wardrobe change.

That’s really the surprising part about the adaptive pants they’re designed for adaptive needs—easy dressing, full side zippers, comfort for mobility or recovery—but they don’t stop there. Once people try them, they start finding their own reasons to wear them.

Mother’s Day? Comfort and ease.
Father’s Day? Yard work survival gear.
Summer? Anything that keeps you cooler than denim in Texas heat.

And in our house… apparently a shared closet situation nobody agreed to. Don’t worry these pants are made for men and women. They come in a few different colors and go up to a size 5x, so everyone is comfortable.

These are the easiest pants to slip on and off and would be good for athletics. My mother-in-law and my hands do not work the way they should at times and both of us was able to zip and unzip the pants without any problems. The material is cool and would look nice with casual clothes or even dressy clothes.

About:

Kids are fickle. One minute they insist on wearing shorts outside or to activities only to end up complaining they are freezing because it’s cold. Parents can keep a secret weapon called zipOns in their purse or in the car to provide a cure for the, “I’m too hot, I’m too cold” days.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
