Day #12 Song of the Day Challenge: Share a song from your Wedding day

May 20th is mine and David’s Wedding Anniversary.I think David is more excited about this than I am. Isn’t that funny? 13 years where did the time go?

I was going to look for the CD we had made of our Wedding for Day #12 Song of the Day Challenge: Share a song from your Wedding day. I didn’t have time to find the CD but if I had you would have been able to hear the songs we picked for our Wedding.

Instead of wasting time I decided I would share the song we walked into the Chapel on. Rascal Flatts Bless the Broken Road . David and I had been down many roads to get to our Wedding Day.

About:

Bless the Broken Road” a song that has been recorded by several American Country Music artists. Co-written by Marcus Harmon, Bobby Boyd, and Jeff Hanna  in 1994, it tells how the journey through relationship heartbreak and disappointment was an important series of lessons along the broken road to finding one’s true love.

Rascal Flatts version is the highest-charting, becoming a number 1 hit on the Billboard country music charts in 2005 and earning the songwriters a Grammy Award.

Lyrics:

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn’t see how every sign pointed straight to youThat every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Yes, He didI think about the years I spent just passin’ through
I’d like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You’ve been there, you understand
It’s all part of a grander plan that is coming trueEvery long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
YeahAnd now I’m just a-rollin’ home
Into my lover’s arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to youThat God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to youSource:
