Spring Break at The Lone Star Flight Museumis Where Fun Takes Flight!

Spring Break is right around the corner and I’m almost positive my sister will be watching my Niece Lily and my Nephew Jason. Which almost means they will end up here at my house. Even though Charlie will still be in class. So I’ve been looking for Field Trips to take them on. I can’t wait to let Debbie and David know Spring Break at The Lone Star Flight Museum is Where Fun Takes Flight! Which none of us have ever visited. Have you?

February 27, 2023 – The Lone Star Flight Museum is set for Spring Break with events, programs, special offers and much more. From Scout Camps, Helicopter, Drone and Community Days, Spring Break will be filled with the wonder of aviation and lots of FUN!

LONE STAR FLIGHT MUSEUM EVENTS:

Spring Break Scout Camps – A Few Spots Still OpenAges 11-17.Pricing varies per badge. Camp dates: March 13-16 – 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Before and after camp care available for an additional fee.

Scouts BSA can earn the Aviation, Electronics, Engineering, Weather, and American Heritage merit badges.

American Heritage Girls Pioneers and Patriots can earn the Aviation, US Military Heroes, and Meteorology badges. Members can save $5 on all scout courses.

LSFM is where fun takes flight during Spring Break! The fun takes off March 12 – 20!

SATURDAY, MARCH 11 – HELICOPTER DAY

  • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Holy Helos! Cool Choppers on deck!

CH-46, USCG MU65C & Boats, 2 Hughes 500s, Bell 407, AH-64 & Make a paper airplane.

  • 11 a.m. & 1 p.m.: Hangar Talk, How Helos Fly

SUNDAY, MARCH 12 – TAKE & MAKE ACTIVITY DAY

  • All Day – Grab a kit full of fun aviation craft to make at home.

MONDAY, MARCH 13 – MECHANIC MONDAY

  • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Tinker with airplane tools and propeller and conduct a pre-flight check on our PT-17 Stearman

TUESDAY, MARCH 14 – INDOOR AIR SHOW & PAPER AIRPLANE CONTEST

  • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Small but mighty, It’s an indoor airshow
  • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Paper airplane building stations
  • 11 a.m. – Noon:  Paper airplane distance contest – PRIZE for longest flight!

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15 – VISIT THE GREAT PLANES

  • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.:  Plane tours inside our DC-3 and Howard 250
  • 10:30 a.m.: Coffee with Bob Wehnert – WWII Veteran and LSFM Volunteer
  • 11:30 am.: DC-3 Hangar Talk
  • 1:30 p.m.: Howard 250 Hangar Talk

THURSDAY, MARCH 16 – NASA DAY & $5 THURSDAY

  • All Day:  NASA Paper Airplane activity
  • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: NASA Robotics Team
  • 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Rover tours
  • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Eggstronaut
  • 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m.: Space Shuttle Simulator NASA Talk

FRIDAY, MARCH 17 – DRONE ZONE & ST. PATRICK’S DAY

The Lone Star Flight Museum (LSFM) is an aviation museum and STEM learning center with a mission to celebrate flight and achievements in Texas aviation as well as educate and engage our youth through science, technology, engineering and math.
